A few years ago at the National Archives in WDC, I had the opportunity to review lists of military under Tennessee's Col Pipken who was the subject of much controversy during 1814. I did not see a Solomon Stewart/Stuart. This is what I believe I did see on the 1812 index and I don't know if my Lincoln County Solomon Stewart is among them: 1. Solomon Stewart / Extra Batt., MD Mil 2. Solomon Stewart / 8 Regt (Magnien's) Vir. Mil 3. Solomon Steward /7R (Magnien's) Vir. Mil 4. Solomon Stewart / 7 Regt (Magnien's) Vir. Mil 5. Solomon Stewart / Det 3 R (Renick's) Ohio Mil 6. Solomon Stewart / 2 R (Burbank's) Mass Mil 7. Solomon Stewart / Foxcroft's Regt Mass Mil 8. Solomon Stewart / Capt Murray's Co, Ohio 9. Solomon Stewart /11 Regt (Pitts) MD Mil c. I guess he could have been part of the 39th or 49th from Lincoln County, but I do not know how to verify that. Or, he could have gotten around the service by either paying someone to take his place, or by being charged with food production on his land / plantation near the Flynt River. Any ideas / pointers / helps would be greatly appreciated. Cheers from 6600 ft Dick Stewart
