Joyce, My DUGGER gggrandfather Married (second) A young woman named LOU C. or LUCY RRODGERS (ROGERS?) This was my paternal grandmother's mom and she told me that her mother (Lucy) did not know her mother or father's names and that she neither knew her own birthday nor how old she was. Lucy also said that her mother died when she was a young child leaving several children with a husband who either could not or would not raise them and he gave them away to whoever would take them. Lucy died when my grandmother was 9 or 10 from consumption (tuberculosis) and these few facts were all she knew about her mother's family. The man Lucy married, THOMAS MARSHALL DUGGER (my gg grandfather), had lost his first wife in childbirth or soon after and Lucy raised his first family (5) and had five children of her own of which my Grandmother was fourth. She did know 2 or three of Lucy's siblings names (she thought). They were Betty (may have married a CANNELL, Hannah (who she thought married a PURDOM) and Frank. Have you run across this family in your research? The DUGGER family lived in Giles and Marshall counties. It is possible that the RODGERS family lived in one of the counties surrounding Pulaski.
