I was interested in your connections to the McCLURE family and the SHERROD family but for different reasons. Martha J. LESLIE/LESLEY/LASLEY married a McClure in Lincoln or Franklin County. His name was Nathan or he was a son of a Nathan. My line is through Martha's younger brother, Alexander LESLIE/LESLEY, b. 1849, the s/o John and Catherine LESLEY/LESLIE/ LASLEY. Catherine died about 1868 and I have been looking for Alexander (Alex/Alec) in the 1870 Census. Where is your McClure in 1870? My SHERROD family was in Tennessee but migrated to NW Arkansas through Illinois. Both brothers, Arthur and William SHERROD, were veterans of the War of 1812 and received land in Bond County, Illinois. They both were Methodist ministers. They finally settled in Washington County, Arkansas. Any information on any of these family would be appreciated.
