This is a request for the various White families to select ONLY ONE MALE SURNAMED WHITE member of their family to submit to a mouth swab DNA test. The cost is minimal and could and should be shared by other members of that male's family. We are talking less than $120, I believe. Not a huge amount anyway. Clay will tell you the exact amount. We will ALL benefit from knowing WHO we do or DO not descend from. It sure will cut down on the queries and allow each White family to know which families to avoid checking out and hopefully exactly which family to work on. [Females can't participate.] If you are unable to locate a male carrying the surname of your White line, maybe you would like to make a donation to this DNA program to help those White males who can't afford to pay for a DNA alone. You ultimately will benefit from ALL who participate to separate the many White lines. The donation can be as small as your wallet as necessary. I only suggest donations IF you do not have a male to submit to this DNA study - to keep it active to help all of us. Since DNA is so new to genealogy, it needs many male White's to submit the swab DNA test to work. Clay Daniels is connected with a wonderful DNA testing group. My own DNA line is below and my family member has submitted- we need more to compare to please. Ginny Keefer nee White William White Sr born ca 1730, died in 1804 in Prince William Co VA. His son, William White Jr , born Jan 10, 1755 in what he called Fauquier Co [was still Prince William Co until 1759] stated in his Rev War Pension application that after the Rev War, he relocated to Rowan Co NC [portion that became Stokes Co NC and lived there for 30 years before going to Lincoln Co TN where he died May 6, 1833. There were many White families in all of above counties and states living close together. Would be nice to know if there is a family connection between some of them and WHO specifically.
