    3. Hi Joy, I was born in Knoxville, grew up in Knoxville, Newark Delaware, Marcellus NY and finally back to Mt. Juliet TN. I currently live in Nashville and teach school in Wilson County. My grandparents grew up in Lincoln County and have lived in Tullahoma since the 50's. I am searching (to no avail so far) for more info on Rufus McDonald Campbell, born 1870 in TN and died in Lincoln County in 1921. He is my gg grandfather. His mother was Jane Campbell, per his death certificate and father unknown. He was married first to Nancy Shelton and later to Fannie Good. My grandmother was an Edwards, daughter of William Buford Edwards and I have lots of info on that line. Rufus' sister married a Luttrell from Lincoln County and they moved to TX. I'm interested in her in hope of finding out more about Rufus. I also have Ropers, Wests, Knox, Thompson, Gatlin, Taylor, Crabtree,McCree, Whitt, Haygood, Hopwood, McClure, Mcintosh, Fowler. Some of these are from Limstone County Alabama. Wish I had more time to work on this!! 3. Hi Dave, I think we have corresponded before. I can't think of her name (Bertha?) but does your wife's grandmother live in Crossville? I would like to know who Jane Campbell is. I think she might be LJ Campbell, daughter of Robert and Mary Campbell of Lincoln County but I have no proof. Or she might be the Lou Campbell in the 1880 LCT census along with Rufus, another son William and a woman named Lizzie who is listed as being Lou's mother. Of course this doesn't work with the parents being Robert and Mary but I just haven't found anything else. Rufus' father is listed as "unknown" on his death certificate. My grandfather is Rufus' grandson but he knows very little about him because he was born the year Rufus died. I have a picture of the man, his death certificate, his will, his obituary, land records etc but cannot find anything else. Anything your wife's grandmother knows would be very much appreciated! Thanks, Tammie > Tammie, I live in Nashville. My wife's grandmother, who is still living, is > your Rufus M Campbells grandaughter. What do you want to know? 3. I don't have any info that I know of on those names, but I do have Sheltons in my line. Jesse Monroe Shelton. My sis Cindy has more info in her head than I have in all my notebooks put together, haha, so if she's reading and recognizes your Shelton she might jump in. We live in Alabama, about 1 1/2 hrs from LCT. My grandparents, greats and all that lived in LCT, Mulberry to be exact, and my aunts, uncle and cousins all still live there. They're soooo lucky! haha. 1. Campbell and Haygood
    2. Mary Miller
    3. I was reading your message and going to comment on the fact that my son-in-law has a full blood Cherokee grandmother from TN and her maiden name was Campbell....she said a lot of the Indians used that name..... then I read your surnames - my son-in-law is a Haygood spelled just that way. They were in TN but moved to AR near the Mississippi river. We have got to compare notes....
