John W. Whitt was, indeed, married three times. By his first marriage to Jane Smith, he had no children. I have no further info on her. By his 2nd marriage to Susan Neal, he had four children: William Anderson, Louisa, John Wesley and Lucy Ann. By his third wife Mary (Pollie) Merrill, he had twelve children: Calline, Garrett Wilson, David Watson, Edward D., James Franklin, William W., Simeon E., Andrew Jackson, Olliva, George Sterling, Mariah Susan, Horace Lee. The above Lucy Ann and Calline were my ancestors.
