    2. Vicki, Thank you for posting the following message to the Lincoln County TN site. You mentioned that the names WRIGHT and CANNON are found among the elders of 1883 through 1903. Are there records earlier - like back to the 1860s? Those two names are of interest to my research. Do you know of a church near Elora in Lincoln County in about 1840s, 1850s? Or of one near Salem in Franklin Co. of 1860s, 1870s? Again, thank you for an interesting letter. Norma (Gorman) Wright Researching WRIGHT, STOVALL, BEAN and WAKEFIELD of Lincoln, Franklin, Bedford Counties in Tennessee; and in Madison and Jackson Counties in Alabama. In the year before that he served on the session there -- was often the moderator of the session. In 1891 he married Maggie Pylant and W. C. Reneau and was noted as Rev. I do not know when he completed his ordination as a pastor. And I do not know when he left Tennessee to go to Illinois. Other Moore names that occur -- H. J. Moore is noted often. On session minutes for 1892 J. H. Moore is listed as Treasurer. That could be John Harkins Moore. These notes are from Book II of the Mt. Hebron Cumberland Prebysterian church at Norris Creek, which is now Belleville TN." I haven't "scoured" the lists of members -- other names that occur on the session records are Bill, Pylant, Ingle, Sorrels, Ashby, Wright, Dooley, Cannon. Swing, Pitts, McKenzie, Reiver. Those were names of the elders who served from 1883 through 1909. On a register of deacons the same names occur -- also Hudson, and James Armstrong (May 1909.) These are very incomplete records. If I ever get lots of time when I have nothing else to do, I would enjoy transcribing these notes...but not sure when I'll get to that. Vicki Moore McCarty>

    3. Thank you Norma - I hope it was a bit helpful. I have not searched all the papers I have (I received them from Julia Wright Molitz) - I see that on one list of Registrants there are a Mattie J and Willie F. Cannon who joined Mt. Hebron - Mattie Oct. 14, 1887 and Willie Nov 2 1882. They were received by "Experience." There are several Wright names -- covering the period 1871 -1893. There are some earlier records -- I think they are transcribed and perhaps not the originals...Rebecca Wright received 13 Oct 1839 - baptism by pouring. The name Wright appears many times but there are few occurrences of the name Cannon. 3. Dear Norma: The WRIGHTS that were members of the Mt. Hebron Church are my WRIGHTS, but there was a JOHN B. WRIGHT that I cannot place that was a member of the Church. He married NANCY CASTLEMAN, also a member of the Church, 26, Nov. 1845. He left the Church by death, so the membership list says, but I cannot find them on any LCT census. By the way I have a new email address jmolitz@cox.net. I have been off line for 2 weeks trying to get my new "fast link cable" working correctly. Hope all is fixed now.
