Hi Jack, I show my John C. Carter as being born in 1844. Emmy (Unknown) Carter was found in Census from 1850 through 1870. 1850 & 1860 she was in Lincoln Co. and 1870 she is in Giles Co. In 1860 she is listed as a pauper and 1861 she is in the Poor House and is listed as "can not walk". That is about all of the information that I have. I do believe that the husband was Eli Carter as he is the closest fit from the 1840 Census and they have a son names Eli. If you want the other kids, let me know. Joyce Stimson
