From the 1836 tax list Dist 23 is described as follows: Begin at the mouth of the privy branch and run up the River to the mouth of Dye's branch and run up to the head of the branch and to the top of the ridge dividing Coldwater from McCullcohs Creek and with the ridge to the Widow Grays and then direct to Wm. G. Spencers and with the road to Michael Robinsons Mill and then up the ridge to include John Franklin then south to the State line then with the Sate line to the east boundary of No. 22 and with the said line to include Samuel Parker, Teblon Parr and then to the beginning.
