List, I just got off the phone with one of the ladys who is helping with the Lincoln County Book. She called me due to some names I had down in what I had sent in on my Bowen line. I had two Williams, so not knowing with out my papers in front of me I told her I must have wrote the same name twice. I'm wrong and I need to get in touch with the people who are going over the papers we send in. Any one out there have a phone number where I can call them. Need the number right away. Thanks Brenda
Type in tncountyheritage.com there will be a long list of names with phone numbers on the left side. Take your pick, you might find the name of the person you talked to. This has worked for me so give it a try. Brenda: I did not send anything to LC about the Bowens. They are on my mother-in-laws side. I was very surprised to see your post. Is this from the family that had the first stone house in Tennessee? That William Bowen Family? I don't have all my facts in front of me...but, my husband's grandfather was named William Russell after his ancestors. His branch headed for Texas during the Texas fight for independence from Mexico. His great- grandfather served 30 day in the Texas army and got lots of land. Amazing! They claimed to be from Tennessee. Always thought, because of the "First Stone House", that meant they came via outside of Nashville. Wow! Is this the same family that also ended up in LC? My goodness, it appears that not only my ancestors, but also my husband's ancestor's may have "gone through" LC on their way to Texas! And Brenda....I have also corresponded with you on some of my LC ancestors that we have a kinship with....So I married a "distant" cousin? Didn't we all? Hi Carmen, I still have not been able to connect my Bowen 's to your husbands line. Wish I could! I'm still stuck with mine in Lincoln and Franklin County tn. Wish I could locate who my James Bowen's parents are and his wife's last name. I'm kinda at a brick wall..hope one day it will fall down and show me all the answers I need.
