Do you have any idea how the Harmon's got from Virginia to Bedford & Lincoln County? I have a copy of Jacob Harmons will that mentions land in Bullitt County Kentucky. That just seems a long way from Lincoln County Tennessee. Thank you again Jane Smythe Parks

I know John Henry Moore & Elizabeth Harmon were married in Jefferson County in 1808, maybe she came there from VA or MD with some of her brothers or married sisters (her sister Catherine married Thomas Greer in Jefferson Co in 1801) then they moved on to Bedford & Lincoln Co.  su3mk13@sbcglobal.net ________________________________ From: "JRgrs1@aol.com" <JRgrs1@aol.com> To: tnlincol@rootsweb.com Sent: Fri, October 30, 2009 7:10:28 PM Subject: Re: [TNLINCOL] Help needed from Ancestry member Thank you so much for this extended tree. 2. My great grandmother was Tempie Ann MOORE that married John R. FOSTER. She was a daughter of James H. MOORE that married Francis ____________? It is my belief that this Francis is Francis BLEDSOE. In the 1850 Bedford County census there is a Louisa F. BLEDSOE in the household of Temperance BLEDSAW (BLEDSOE). She is 13 years of age on this Census. James H. and Francis MOORE are buried in the Moore Chapel Cemetery in Bedford County. The stone reads. Died Oct. 20, 1893, 60 years of age. this would have her being born in 1833. If Louisa F. was 13 in the 1850 census that would have made her birth year 1837. So there would be 4 years difference in the age. I have always heard that sometimes census takers estimated ages in the early enumerations. Whether that is the case here or not I do not know. In recent months I found an old picture and it was labeled "Uncle John Moore," that was packed away.  I suppose that this was a brother to James H. MOORE. I looked at the Lincoln County census recently and I meant to put out a query post on a MOORE household, but at this time I do not recall which census and which household I was questioning.  Bobby Prosser prossergenealogy@comcast.net    ----- Original Message ----- From: JRgrs1@aol.com To: tnlincol@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, October 26, 2009 6:23:57 PM GMT -06:00 US/Canada Central Subject: Re: [TNLINCOL] Help needed from Ancestry member Bobby, I was wondering are you connected to any Moore's in that area?   Joseph Greer's brother in law was John Henry Moore. 3. I believe you are correct about John Henry & Elizabeth Harmon Moore being buried in the same little area as Joseph Greer. I think John Henry Moore lived just across the road from there, on land given to him by Joseph Greer. John Henry Moore's children George W. R. Moore, Lewis H. Moore, & Jacob Washington Moore were the only ones who had children. As best as I can tell, Mary Ann More, Margaret Jane Moore, & John H. Moore never married; and Joseph G. 2. Jane, I am actually not related to the Greer Family. They are an allied name that married into my Whorley family. I just used the Greer name when Julia ask if someone would use a surname from Lincoln County to check out Ancestry.com But I do have a question about a Greer - Prosser connection. Otey Prosser was a Revolutionary Soldier that settled in Washington County, Georgia and we know that the Greer and Prosser families settled in close to the Chestnut Ridge area. There is an Otey Prosser Greer buried here in Dickson County, Tennessee. Is he related to the Greer and Prosser family of Southern Middle Tennessee?
