We believe, but no definite proof yet, that James Carroll Reed's father was John Reed of Williamson County, Tn. who married Lavinia Williams. 1. Re: Someone to look up files in LCT
    2. Bill, at one time Frances West would do look ups for a fee. I do not know if she does it anymore and I no longer have her address. Perhaps someone else on this list does. If you are looking for deeds they are at the Fayetteville Court House as are the wills do believe you have to have someone to go there to do look ups. But if you are looking for marriage licenses, bond, probate records and some legal records you can write for them at the Archives. The address is Lincoln, CO. Archives, 1000-B West Washington ST. Fayetteville, TN 37334. Just send a letter telling them who and what you are looking for. Be sure and send a self address stamped envelope so they can write back what they have and how many pages and the cost. The charge 25 cents per copy plus postage. I have ordered sooooo much from them that I send a money order, they do accept checks, and a bunch of large 10 x 14 envelopes with my address on each of them so they do not have to go out and buy them. I try to have everything ready for them so they can just make copies and send them on. They are very helpful. Julia .
