Wonder if you might know of Elizabeth McClure who marrried Sherrod Parish in LCT. Bill
Bill, Do you have any other info on Elizabeth MCClure? I am now researching my McClure line which is John MCClure that married into the HAWS family. Seems he may have married other times as well. Does anyone have the 1860-70 LCT census that would do a look-up for me. I would like to find Abraham Vinson and wife Nancy Hall. I have them in 1880 in Lauderdale county, Al. Only Nancy, Alex, Emaline and Allen is listed. I am trying to determine if this is the same family listed in 1850 Lincoln county, Tn. since Abraham is not there I wonder if he may have died. Bill
Bill, I have just checked Heritage Quest and found no Abraham Vinson in 1860 and one, age 44, race B, in AR in 1870. I'll be happy to send a copy of that to you if you wish. Greetings, I am researching Jones Rodgers (Rodgers) who lived in Tennessee, Illinois, and Phelps county, MO in early 1800's. He died around 1858 in Phelps County. His 8 children: Isabella Alexander Jonathan Betsey (Elizabeth) Matthew Margaret F. E. Sarah Wife unknown. Thank you. Joan Howe
Bill, I have VINSONs in my line, too, located in IL. So far, I can't get back beyond about 1882, though, and that date is the spouse of unknown VINSON, Mary Magnolia FOSTER. Unknown VINSON and Mary Magnolia had three children, Verba, Virgil and George. Verba was born in 1904. The family came to IL from TN but nobody knows where in TN. Do you have them in your files? Can anyone tell me the first name of the McClure man that murdered DC HALL? McClure was hung in the spring of 1829 for this murder. Any help out there? Brenda
Joyce, My DUGGER gggrandfather Married (second) A young woman named LOU C. or LUCY RRODGERS (ROGERS?) This was my paternal grandmother's mom and she told me that her mother (Lucy) did not know her mother or father's names and that she neither knew her own birthday nor how old she was. Lucy also said that her mother died when she was a young child leaving several children with a husband who either could not or would not raise them and he gave them away to whoever would take them. Lucy died when my grandmother was 9 or 10 from consumption (tuberculosis) and these few facts were all she knew about her mother's family. The man Lucy married, THOMAS MARSHALL DUGGER (my gg grandfather), had lost his first wife in childbirth or soon after and Lucy raised his first family (5) and had five children of her own of which my Grandmother was fourth. She did know 2 or three of Lucy's siblings names (she thought). They were Betty (may have married a CANNELL, Hannah (who she thought married a PURDOM) and Frank. Have you run across this family in your research? The DUGGER family lived in Giles and Marshall counties. It is possible that the RODGERS family lived in one of the counties surrounding Pulaski. Where, we are not sure, perhaps Lincoln County. Joycecsp@aol.com wrote: > I am searching the name ROGERS in Lincoln County. I would suggest you look at either the Van Buren County Arkansas or Cleburne Co AR pages and talk to some of the Rogers there.....what I have: Calvin Landrum Rogers born NC and wife Sarah Lanning - their 3 daughters born 1868-1875 AR married into Bittle, Turney and Davis families.... William Rogers born ca 1808 NC wife Rachel born ca 1815 Tn....1835 they are in TN, 1850 in Van Buren Co AR and they also marry into Davis, Bittle and Turney families there. Jacob B Turney SR (wife Nancy Gillaim) are in the 1840 LCT census, then move to Boone Co AR and in doing his research in LCT I have seen Davis and Rogers names....his daughter Permelia Ann Turney married William M Davis 12 Dec 1839 LCT, mid 1840s to Boone Co AR.....two of the daughters of Ambrose Timmons who died LCT ca 1847 married sons of Jacob Turney SR and moved to Boone Co AR..... since this Turney is not my direct line, I did not collect all the Rogers info I found when researching LCT but do remember seeing the Rogers name as well as Timmons, Davis, etc. Mary ----- Original Message ----- From: <Joycecsp@aol.com> To: <TNLINCOL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 17, 2005 10:40 PM Subject: [LCT] (no subject) > I am searching the name ROGERS in Lincoln County. I have some Rogers, David and Eli (two separate families) that came to Texas about 1900 from Lincoln Co TN.
let me look at my notes, there is a Rogers in AR.....and I think I have some info on them with the group of Turney, Hancock, Davis from LCT.....who moved to AR late 1830s and early 1840s.
