Brenda I was mistaken about Sherrods son in Mo. he married a Harlin that I think her family moved to Mo. from Hardin, county Tn. and that could be why he went to Mo. to follow his sweet heart. Just a guess but he had no family there. He joined the Union Army and drew a pension until his death in 1916. Bill

Bill, The 1870 census has the following info: Nancy Vinson 46 NC Alec 21 AL Emaline 14 AL Allen 7 AL Jack Jones 56 NC I would say that since the youngest was 7 that Alexander died sometime after the 1860 census. I searched Ancestry.com and did not come up with anything. I will be glad to look up something else for you on Ancestry if you need it. At the moment I am at a brick wall and just coasting while I try to break the wall.
