    2. Brenda I was mistaken about Sherrods son in Mo. he married a Harlin that I think her family moved to Mo. from Hardin, county Tn. and that could be why he went to Mo. to follow his sweet heart. Just a guess but he had no family there. He joined the Union Army and drew a pension until his death in 1916. Bill

Hi Dave, you probably don't want to discount the possibility back then of it being spelled "Baird". i belive i saw this a number of times in early TN records, including the Donalson trip and later in life in Lincoln Co TN. (don't hold me to the locations, as this is vague memory when i was researching my Stewart's and thought perhaps I had found a possible link between the Baird/Beard line and my Stewart/Stuart line. info'ing the LCT list here as well in case you don't subscribe to it. Bill, The 1870 census has the following info: Nancy Vinson 46 NC Alec 21 AL Emaline 14 AL Allen 7 AL Jack Jones 56 NC I would say that since the youngest was 7 that Alexander died sometime after the 1860 census. I searched Ancestry.com and did not come up with anything. I will be glad to look up something else for you on Ancestry if you need it. At the moment I am at a brick wall and just coasting while I try to break the wall.
