    3. Hi Julia, I wont say I'm glad to see others having same trouble because maybe we are on right track to solving it. I spent 2 hours on phone with Wayne Owens last night, 7:30 p.m. my time and he os two hours earlier. I think he should receive a title of Tomb stone Archeologist, don't you? He has literally DUG-UP a wealth of hidden stones for both of us. The find of my g. grandmother Jane L. Himebaugh is wonderful. He and a neighbor have to complete digging it out as an apple tree has it embraced in a root. We both got carried away with Google Earth and he told me where to travel and see where and what. I have never ben to Tennessee and not likely I will at my age so to travel vicariously will well surface. Going up Wiley Hollow Rd. to Wiley Cole Cemetery and like flying over the hill to the old Shull farm is delightful and maybe better than being there in some ways. We got into a discussion on Shull Cemetery south of Cold Spring Rd. junction on 231. Why there is because of Susan Shull Stone, wife of J. D. Stone that got that land from Littleberry Stone, his father. Of course D. B. Shull, her father was granted to burry his wife Sarah L. Higgins Shull there and likely he in 1902 and daughter Sarah Francis in 1910. The question is when was the cemetery established. D. B. Shull first two wives were Julia Ann Davis d. 1844 and Mary Polly Clark d. 1850. In the old Shull letters to Missouri, Daniel stated condition of his dear friend and 2nd wife Mary that she became ill with an intestine sickness and was 6 months pregnant. The baby arrived early and lived a few minuets and Mary expired 10 days later (July 1850). He had the baby dug up and buried with it's mother, next to Julia the first wife. That takes it back to 1844 so when did he know Littleberry and was it littleberry that gave him a plot for Shull Cemetery? The land mentioned in the old land deeds is up next to Belleville or Norris Creek then. Wayne says he had land across the road (321) old Shellbyville Hwy. so where was he living 1844 when he buried Julia and I just assumed she was buried in his farm but who knows. Well maybe Wayne will figure it out some day if he doesn't tire looking. Enjoy the days of Easter and celebrate Christ arising from another grave. 1. Re: [TNLINCOL] Warren, Partin, Myrick
    2. Hi Cindy, This is what I have: General Forrest Partin was the first son of Hightower Partin (1792-1876) and his young second wife, Mary J. Thompson (1848-1904). The surname of Partin was also spelline Parton, Pardon, Parden, etc. General Forrest Partin (1864-1907), a blacksmith, married twice: (1) Nancy L. Warren on 28 Aug 1884, Giles Co TN -- 4 children (Andrew, Nancy N., William F., Icie M.) (2) Mary Johnsie Warren on 23 Feb 1905, Giles Co TN -- 0 children (1) first, to 16 year older lady, Nancy L. Warren (1848-1900), daughter of William Warren and Moriah Elizabeth Burns. William Warren (c1817-1900) was the son of Daniel Warren (1791-1876) and first wife, Nancy. Moriah Elizabeth "Betsie" Burns (red hair and smoked a pipe), was the daughter of Andrew Burns (1797-c1859) and first wife, a Miss Holley. There is an article and a wedding picture of General Forrest and Nancy Warren Partin on pages 326-7 in the book, The Heritage of Giles County, Tennessee, published in 2006. Articles and pictures of daughters, Nancy Naomia Partin and Icie Mae Partin are on pages 327-8 in the same book. Articles and pictures of son, William F. Partin (changed spelling to Pardon) and family are on pages 322, 323, 324 and 325 of the same book. Pulaski Citizen Newspaper, Giles Co TN, dated October 1, 1908 Friendship Community Miss Icie Parton visited Mrs. Henry Warren. [Ice Mae Partin/Parton died 23 Aug 1909] (2) and married second, to Mary Johnsie Warren (1863-1925) on 23 Feb 1905, Giles Co TN. General Forrest Partin died in 1907, so they were only married a couple years -- no children. I have no definite parents for Mary Johnsie Warren, but possible parents as Johnson W. Warren (son of Thomas and Unknown first wife) and Louise Egaltine Freeman, per a previous message from you. General Forrest and Nancy L. (Warren) Partin are buried at Bradshaw Cemetery, Giles Co TN, with only rocks as markers, but descendants know which rocks mark their graves. - - - - - Mary Johnsie (Warren) Partin married as her second husband, a twin, William C. Myrick (born 1836; of Madison Co AL at time of marriage) on 28 Sep 1909 in Fayetteville, Lincoln Co TN. They are buried in LINCOLN COUNTY, TN - Flintville Cemetery. W. C. Myrick was the son of Lindsey P. Myrick (born 1810 NC) and Priscilla ___ (born 1814 VA). [Another researcher gave W. C. Myrick's twin as Susan Elizabeth Myrick. They were born 11 Apr 1936. And gave other siblings of W.C. Myrick as Carolyn, John, Eliza J., Edward, Martha E. Aaron J., Sarah C., Francis, James A.] Hope this helps some. Also, I know of men who have the given name of "Colonel" or "General" and they are not in the military! :) Maxine -----Original Message----- From: tnlincol-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:tnlincol-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Julia Molitz Sent: Thursday, March 04, 2010 11:55 PM To: tnlincol@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TNLINCOL] Pinckney and Bird and Birdie I have always wondered about the name Pinkney/Pinckney as well. There were 2 Charles Pinckney's (Patriots). Charles (1757-1824) Gov of SC and signer of the Constitution & his cousin once removed Charles C. Pinckney, also a signer of the Constitution. The Pinckney family it seems was one of the founding families of Colonial America. Birdie is used sometimes as a nick name for Bridget but have never seen that name, in my nick of the woods, earlier than the 1950's. Prince Albert Edward (son of Queen Victoria) who became King Edward VII nick name was Bertie. That is the only time I remember seeing a name even close to Bird/Birdie before modern times. Never know why people use the names they do. My poor grandmother was stuck with the name Willie ( here given name). Her husband my grandfather James F. Wright was called Doc. He was not a Doctor. In the George Washington Wright family of Belleville, TN had a Thom (middle name)Wright (female). ----- Original Message ----- From: "Maxine Odle" <maxseen@bellsouth.net> To: "Rootsweb Lincoln Co." <tnlincol@rootsweb.com>; <TNMOORE-L@rootsweb.com>; <TNBEDFOR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2010 2:43 PM Subject: [TNLINCOL] Pinckney and Bird and Birdie >I wonder at the frequency of the names "Pinckney", "Bird", and "Birdie" in > my genealogy searching, especially in Moore and Lincoln counties.
