    2. James L. Danley
    3. Dear List, I apologize for sending a duplicate message regarding my change in email address. When I saw it, I couldn't figure out how that happened. Well I just noticed that I inadvertently copied the same email address for the Marshall Co., AL list. When I thought I was sending the message to the ALMARSHA-L list, it went to this list instead. Again I apologize! Jim Danley Vista, CA

    1. Sam Kirkland
    2. James L. Danley
    3. Dear List, I have three Sam Kirkland's in my database: 1. Sam R. Kirkland (1896-1965) -- son of John Vinus Kirkland (1857-1918) & MINNIE Martin (1869-1939). NOTE: His sister, MINNIE Lee Kirkland was born 28 Jul 1891. 2. Sam Kirkland -- married an unknown daughter of John Albert Snoddy (1864-1937) & Mary Ellen Renegar (1869-1948). An infant Snoddy was born and died in 1896. 3. Sam Kirkland -- married a Kathleen (maiden name unknown). They have a daughter MINNIE Katherine Kirkland born 26 Nov 1939. My hunch is that all three are really the same person. The name "Minnie" is very strong evidence to that fact. Would anyone have any additional evidence or proof that they are, in deed, one and the same? Thanks, Jim Danley Vista, CA

    3. Martha, There are two Cunningham Cemeteries but I think the one you want is located Two and one-half miles east of Fayetteville and south of Old Chennault Ford Road. Burgess Gray is not listed in this cemetery but the tomb stone may be long gone or his grave may have been un marked. But this cemetery was on Griffith Cunningham Property. Info from Court Records. Griffith and wife Sarah are buried there. The Chennault Ford Rd runs east off route 231 as it loops around the city of Fayetteville. South of were route 273 crosses 231. 2. Julia Molitz
    3. Melody, Your information on Martha Groce being buried in Colter Cemetery is wrong. She is buried in the Groce Cemetery. The location is Three and one-forth miles SE of Belleville, TN., west of Gimlet Branch. Getting the wrong cemetery is easy to do as I did the same thing. My sister and I looked all over the Prosser Cemetery just knowing that our great grandparents were buried there. After I looked at the Marsh Cemetery Book again I saw I wrote down the wrong cemetery. From looking at my map it could be the cemetery that is west of Old Gimlet Road, that runs along the Gimlet Branch, just were Boonville crosses Old Gimlet north of Mulberry. Boonville Rd. runs north off Lynchburg Hwy. Do you have a map of LCT? If not you can get one from the Chamber of Commerce in Fayetteville. 1. New Email Address
    2. James L. Danley
    3. Dear List, I have a new email address: jldanley@sbcglobal.net . I recently got a new computer with Windows XP. Unfortunately, Windows XP is not compatible with my Compuserve Classic account. While all of my stored emails and my address book were copied onto a new external hard drive, I actually don't have access to them because of this incompatiblilty. Any new messages sent to the old email address will be forwarded to a temporary Compuserve address, so I won't actually lose any new messages -- for now. Within a very short time (probably just a couple of weeks) I will be completely closing out the Compuserve account. Therefore, I am asking everyone with whom I have corresponded over the years if you would please take the time to write directly to me, at the new email address, so that I can update your name and email address in my new address book. In addition, would you be so kind as to include the main surname(s) which you are researching. (NOTE: In other words, my own personal roll-call!) Many thanks! Jim Danley Vista, CA

There are several of you with whom we formed sub-discussion groups (some of these members may not be subscribers to this list). If you would please include the names and email addresses of the other members of the groups. Don't worry about duplications. I just want to make sure that I get back in touch with everyone! Finally, to George Waller. I don't have access to my old email account, therefore I am not able to unsubscribe that email address from this list the normal way. Will it automatically terminate when the old account is offically closed (and the messages are returned as undeliverable)? Please write regarding my options. I don't mind temporarily receiving duplicate messages to the two accounts. I will just delete the ones to the Compuserve address until the unsubscribe is final. Many thanks! Jim Danley Vista, CA

    1. CHESTNUT RIDGE COUSINS MEETING
    2. Prosser Genealogy - Comcast
    3. Lincoln County List Members I would like to welcome you to join the Chestnut Ridge Cousins Organization. The meeting will take place Friday June 10 and Saturday June 11 at the Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill, Tennessee. The June meeting will be the fourth meeting of the descendants of the pioneers who settled in the hills and valleys of the Chestnut Ridge area. This community is located in Southern Middle Tennessee where Bedford, Lincoln, Marshall and Moore counties come together. The organization was formed in 2002 to learn more about our heritage and to share genealogical research of "The Ridge" area. In the three previous meetings, fifteen states and many counties of Tennessee have been represented. The cousins assemble with family linage and many family stories to share. Among the speakers for this years event will be Don Mills, who will speak Friday night. Don works with the Walsworth Publishing Company which is currently working on publications of family history books for Lincoln, Coffee and Giles County. The Moore County book has been completed and I have mine in hand with many interesting family stories submitted by descendants of the early pioneer families. This years event also will feature a couple of Marshall County speakers with a vast knowledge of the area. The Saturday morning speaker will be Paulette Carpenter. She is the county coordinator for this list and the Maury County list of the TNGenWeb, the TNGenWeb David Donahue Records Repository assistant Archivist, UDSATA Repository Assistant Archivist, and Lead Archivist within USDATA for several states. Paulette, whose family roots are buried deep in Marshall County, will share information about data that is available from the Tennessee State Archives. The final presenter of the day will be Don Jeter of Lewisburg, will speak after dinner on Saturday evening. Don, who is a diligent researcher in the Marshall County area, is currently the president of the Marshall County Historical Society. He will speak on the issue of land grants of the area around Petersburg and "The Ridge" area. Between the morning and evening sessions there will be time for visiting, researching, and t! ouring some of the old family cemeteries. We welcome you to join and share your family history of the area. You may view the organization website at: http://www.chestnutridgecousins.org. If you would like to obtain a registration form for membership to the organization, you may locate one on the website, or you may contact Bobby Prosser at: prossergenealogy@comcast.net or [615] 446-5914. For guest who wish to stay at the park, the cutoff for reservations is May 10. Please register under Chestnut Ridge Cousins. We look forward to meeting you and sharing. 1. Prince, Gobbell
    2. Harold Gobbell
    3. In the 1850 Lincoln Co. Tn. census James R. Gobbell age 24, was single, in the household with his parents John and Ruhamy Gobbell. By 1853, he was in Wayne Co. Tn. with a son John R. Gobbell. I have been told that James R. Gobbell's first wife, the mother of his son, was Ann Prince. By 1860 in Wayne Co. , he is the head of the household containing himself, his son John R. and a new wife, Mary Victory Gobbell and her two daughters from a previous marriage to Joseph Victory. His first wife, believed to be Ann Prince's, whereabouts is unknown. Most likely deceased at or near 1853, the birth year of his son. I would very much like any info regarding the first wife whomever she was. Thanks in advance. Harold Gobbell
