John, This is interesting, as Andrew Freeman is father of Egaltine who married Johnson Warren, still making Mary J. Warren g-dau to Mary Glidewell Freeman Melson (she mother of Egaltine, tho my notes say Martha Glidewell)..Egaltine married the Phillips.... Egaltine and Johnson Warren have 2 sons Wm. and Joseph that I have not followed, anyone with info on those two??? Still looking for info on Emma Melson (14 in 1880), niece of A.D.D. Warren....How does she relate to the Melsons above? Cindy
Cindy, Eglantine Freeman married first Johnson Warren who died in the Civil War. She married 2nd Peter Phillips. Eglantine was Mary Ann Freeman Melson's daughter. John Foster
I am not sure if this is the same family. My g-grandmother was Mary Ann Glidewell born 6 Aug. 1817 NC. She married first Andrew Jackson Freeman. After his death she married William Franklin Melson 8 May 1853. She is buried in the Phillips Cemetery on Chestnut Ridge. Some of the names in the inquiry are not familiar to me. Hope this is of some help. John Foster
Ok, think I flubbed up here, Egaltine m. Peter Phillips or Melson...cant think straight here....help me out.. Cindy
Sonja, Do you have info on Jesse's dau. Mary b. 1845, Rebecca Elizabeth and son John? Who they married...would love to exchange info with you privatley... cindykinard@aol.com I had to get a new computor a few months back and had lost my old family tree maker file, and trying to get it all back in.. Cindy
Great question, who is A.D.D. Warren...from what I have found (I think) Delila is widowed by 1900 and the two children are not living in the household...Still wondering about that Emma Melson listed as niece in his household 1880.....about the other Melson family I had asked about.... 1880 Lincoln Co. Mary Melson 62 Henry B. son 23 Warren, Mary J. g-dau. 15 This Mary J Warren is probably the dau of Johnson Warren and Egaltine Freeman, Johnson died in the war and Egaltine remarried Peter Melson, is this Mary listed above his mother?, making Mary Warren the g-dau now.. Cindy
Hi Diane, Jesse Warren and any children born before 1860, would have to be with Daniel's first wife Nancy. He and Priscilla Newsom Jackson were married on February 13 1860. What information I have on this family was generously shared by George Waller, his mother Jane Warren Waller and Michaele Swiderski. Michaele has done a great deal of very thorough recent research on this family. By the way, who is A.D.D. Warren? My primary interest is Jesse and Elizabeth Bedwell Warren. Sonja Bedwell smbedwell@aol.com
Grace, sorry you couldn't get through. Let me know what number you are having trouble with and will try to help. Email me privately if you like. Aileen
By chance would you have found a Robert L. Guthrie, in Giles Co., who was placed with the Henry (or William) Newland family ca. 1840, when he was 7 years of age. Thanks. George Waller can probably answer most of the questions about the Warren family. The T.E. Warren listed is Thomas E. Warren, son of Jesse and Rebecca Bedwell Warren. I show that he married Artemessia Williams on April 12, 1867. Sonja Bedwell smbedwell@aol.com
George Waller has an interesting rootsweb site on Daniel Warren. http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=danielwarren&id=I89 Sonja Bedwell smbedwell@aol.com
Hi, Pretty much all the Warrens mentioned are sons/g-sons of Daniel Warren, and his 2nd wife Priscilla, except the M. D. who is Mormion/Morman etc and his wife Kiziah...and the A.D.D. who I can indentify..Any ideas on A.D.D. Warren? Cindy
Regarding the first family: Jesse Warren is the son of Daniel and Nancy Jackson Warren. His wife Rebecca is the daughter of Major and Mary (Polly) K. White Bedwell. Their daughter Susan Warren should have been listed as Susan Bartlett. She married James S. Bartlett, March 19, 1878 in Moore County. J.A. Bartlett is their daughter, b. 1879. Rebecca Bedwell Warren's date of birth is a mystery. On the 1850 census, she is listed as 27; in 1860 she is listed as 42, a big jump of 15 years; in 1870 she is listed as 53; and in 1880 she has suddenly aged 14 years. Sonja Bedwell smbedwell@aol.com
