Has anyone heard any news on whether the heritage book is getting close? I ordered one as a gift for someone. Thanks, Susan Kelley Fletcher Misers are no fun to live with, but they make great ancestors.--Tom Snyder http://www.tribalpages.com/tribes/sflet

Norman, theres 1880 census for the whole country on www.familysearch.org Maybe that will help you. No, I don't have Moore's in my lines. Mullins\Jones\ Vickers\McCleskey are my lines from LCT. Reading Julia's wonderful LCT Pioneers Index, I saw pp 98, 99, Genealogy of Levi Moore [Rev War soldier], and son, William Depriest Moore. [A question mark as to connection to LCT was added in the index]. I looked at my favorite place -Ancestry.com-and found something of interest. **** David D. Moore b 17 Sept 1758 possibly VA, died 2 Dec 1831 Bedford Co TN. Buried Bearear Twp. Madison Co KY?? [Seems a stretch for place of burial???] Married Jane Depriest b 4 May 1770 Greenbrier, Augusta Co VA, md 14 Aug 1788 Augusta Co VA. Children; 1. Annie b 17 July 1789 2. William Depriest b 7 Feb 1792 , died bet 1850-1860 in Marshall Co TN, married Hannah Leonard b ca 1793 SC, died aft 1880 TN. 3. Polly b ca 1793 b Madison Co KY 4. LEVI b 26 May 1794 " [perhaps he named a son William Depriest Moore too?] 5. David Daniel b ca 1801 ", married Rebecca English on 21 July 1825 Clay Co MO. 6. Jane b ca 1804 ", died ca 1879 Clay Co MO, married 21 July 1825 Clay Co MO to Jonathan English. 7. Samuel b 15 Mar 1805, Madison Co KY 8. George b ca 1806 " 9. Margaret b ca 1808 " **** I bet Chalkley's Chronicles -on the internet- would have more about the above individuals if anyone is researching this line. That site deals mostly with Augusta Co VA- which covered a huge area of VA in the time frame of these volumes. Remember to scroll to the bottom of each of the three volumes to view the index to save time. These are very large volumes. Ginny K

Laura, Do you find a will for an Isaac Holman who died in 1877? Or for that matter any Isaac who died after 1870? There were two Isaacs in the 1870 LCT census, one was 91 and one was 84. These two may have been the same Isaac just counted twice (once at son W.P. Holman's home). thanks Susan Holman Dallas disdsh@aol.com
When were you grandparents born and where. Have you looked at Census records, yet. This may give you some clues as to where to look. Where they born and raised in Lincoln County, TN or did their parents move from another location. Finding them on a census may help? When were they married and where? Have you got a copy of your grandfather's death certificate? This might tell you who his parents were. If the person doing the reporting put the information on it. White/Chapman/Tucker Researchers; Julia was kind enough to share these two obits with us. As she stated they were taken from The Fayetteville Observer in Lincoln Co TN. Reading them, it seems obvious to me that this information was taken from a Family Bible. Anyone know more of this family or their parentage in NC? Where Bible records might be located? you mentioned Sumner Co Tn..... Early TN tax lists Sumner County Tn no Gray 1787 Thomas Hendrick 1792 Joseph Hendricks 1811 Cate and Wilkins Moss 1811 Joshua Warren 1811 Jeremiah Hendrick 1816 Cate and Ransom Moss 1816 John, Terrell, and Thomas Ethridge 1816 Tolbert Hendricks this makes it look to me like they moved to Sumner Co Tn at differnet times....1792 for Hendricks with an s, 1811 for Moss and Warren......but then they could have all moved together to Lincoln Co TN. But there are no Gray or Grey in Sumner early tax records. Is that any help to you? Mary, I have been interested in the Gray's and Ethridges, as both families married into the Warrens. The Grays I have not done any research on, the Ethridges I have...Just thought I would thro this your way... Jeremiah Ethridge Sr. and Courtney Bright had the following children: Peter, Jeremiah Jr. b. 1772-1775 Edgecombe Co Nc m. Sarah Rackley, Jared Ethridge m. Polly Wisman in Sumner CO Tn., Nancy Ethridge, my note states m. Jeremiah Buntin, Sarah Ethridge m. Matthew Carter, Anna Ethridge, Charity b. ca. 1780 m. Henry Warren, Courtney Ethridge, Mary Ethridge m. Eli Manning, Elizabeth m. Tignal Hendricks...(Tignal Hendricks sister Mary m. Daniel Warren b. 1772, this Warren in Lincoln Co Tn by about 1810ish). Of these Ethridges, I have not traced every line, I do have info tho that Jeremiah Jr., Jared, Anna, Charity all in Lincoln CO, to my knowledge there were no others here at that time.I have not however researched the other daughters listed..I do know the the Warrens and Ethridge, along with some Hendricks came to Lincoln Co thru the Sumner Co Tn area.. Saturday, May 28, is a Bellefonte Cemetery Work Day. We will begin at 9:00 a.m. and work until Noon. Bellfonte Cemetery is in Jackson County, Alabama in Bellefonte, by or at least close to the TVA plant just outside of Scottsboro. Agenda: 1. Clean additional tombstones (Please, EVERYONE BRING 2 gallons of water even if you do not work on this project.) 2. Photograph all grave markers and record their present condition. Digital camera will be furnished. 3. Cut small vegetation such as Privet which has grown since cemetery was first cleared in March and April. 4. Finish clearing walking paths. 5. Fill in some more sunken graves and animal dens. 6. Other improvements as energy and time allow. I hope to see you there Saturday morning. PLEASE pass the word and bring others who can help in any way. PLEASE BRING yard tools such as weedeater, grass clippers, and your own work gloves. I will bring supplies for cleaning tombstones. I also plan to have Jim Bailey distribute more sulfur and moth balls on Thursday. These materials seem to ward off the critters. Ann B. Chambless
