    3. Thank you Julia, Yes I am using Ancestry.com, so I'll browse the Jackson County, TN census instead of doing a search, if it will let me go past the last Jackson County page. I don't where Mary Elen (TUCKER) STEED is buried or who her parents or siblings were or where she was in 1850. Every so often I try to focus on finding this info but I always get tired of days of searching and I then get sidetracked too easily on to another family and Mary Elen's family gets forgotten. It seems to me that I found them one time years ago when I was looking at the microfilms but most of my old papers are in storage in another town currently, so it might have been another family that I am thinking I found. Thanks, I feel a new energy to continue looking. 2. Julia Molitz
    3. Kaylene, As your Fredrick is in dist 9 on the 1850 LCT and he and Mary are again in dist 9 on the 1870 it could very well be that they were in dist 10 in 1860. Part of that 1860 district 10 LCT census is indeed missing. I have proof that my great grandparents were in dist 10 in 1860 but they do not appear on that census. Other researchers have had the same problem. I have that Fredrick is buried in the Armstrong Moore cemetery. Do you know were Mary Tucker Steed is buried? If you are using Ancestry for the 1820 LCT census you have to look under Jackson CO., TN. Many of us have complained over the many months. They said they would fix the problem but Ancestry just does not seem to get their act together. 3. I am searching for Fredrick Farmer STEED and wife Mary Elen/Ellen (TUCKER) who were married about 1858. I found him on the 1850 census in LCT and the family was on the 1870 census in LCT. I have tried every combination of names/dates I can think of but I cannot locate them on the 1860 census. It seems to me that on one of the census the LCT was mixed in with another Tennessee county. Does anyone know if part of the LCT 1860 census is missing (or unreadable)? Does anyone know where this family was in 1860? Kaylene

    2. James L. Danley
    3. Dear Cindy, I have that Delaney's maiden name is BAIRD or BEARD (from several sources, but no specific documentation proving the maiden name). In the 1850 LCT census, living with William "Lane" and "Laney" is Ann Beard (age 62). It is believed that this is Delaney's mother. It's too bad that the identity of the informant for Mahala (Land) Quick's death record is not provided. It's possible that Mahala's mother could have remarried. Jim Danley Vista, CA

    1. [TNLINCOL] Monroe Shelton
    2. Hi, I found on the Tn deaths site that Samuel G. Shelton b. 17 Jun 1879 d. 8 Jul 1939 Lincoln Co. son of James Monroe Shelton and La Vina Wilbanks This was great as I descend from Monroe Shelton, and had found several references that his name was James J. Monroe, Jesse James M., Monroe, J.M....several mentions, and now with this can be sure of at least first name...same thing with Vinie..(as listed 1880), marriage record was L. A. Wilbanks to J.M. Shelton..20 Jun 1878 so, things falling into place there found another death cert for son John W. Shelton, death cert just named father Monroe Shelton, mother unknown...Monroe Shelton married Sarah J. Hill 20 Dec 1871... question here, I also find in marriages: The gender of Eliza Shelton is female. Spouse: John Hill Marriage Date: Jul 26, 1871 County: Lincoln This record can be found at the County Court Records, Film # 0968562 - 0968564 how might this Eliza relate to the Sheltons, and does John Hill relate to Sarah J. above?
