    3. As to nearby counties adjacent to LCT, we also have Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens which has obits at http://www.limestonechapel.com/index.html And, they go back for a year! Anybody have any information on funeral home obits in Giles, Marshall, Moore or Franklin Counties? Adjacent counties are always important for the adjacent communities/cemeteries; for example, State Line Cemetery on Hwy 231/431, Gatlin Cemetery in Limestone County/Ardmore, TN etc etc. Plus, a newspaper like the Huntsville Times always includes obits of a lot of the surrounding counties for both AL & TN. 3. Bertha Smith is daughter of Rufus a Smith and Martha A., born Feb 1892 TN. She married Robrt G Weiss, son of Charles & Maggie Plemmons Weiss after his first wife Lula Myrtle Wms died abt 1828. I found them last on census in LCT Dist 13 on Swan Creek Rd near her parents who lived on Bug Tussel, a few doors from her sister Fannie who married Edd Swaner. Robert G is on SSDI as having died Nov 1975 Fayetteville TN. I cannot find a death record for Bertha. Can anyone tell me where they are buried and death dates for Bertha. 3. "Lum' and Mattie had 4 children: Joseph Edd Swaner born Dec 28, 1884 LCT, living in Harms and married to Fannie Byers Smith as indicated on his WWI registration. He had red hair and blues eyes as did his father. Living in Fayetteville Sep 1918. They do not have any children listed. Frances Ivy born Nov 1886 TN. do not know who she married........... Dee Raymond Swaner born Feb 3, 1888, permanent residence Fayetteville, but working in Hillsboro TX for FF Hobbs. He had brown eyes, auburn hair and was not yet married in May 1917. he later married Jennie Mai Storey in LCT and was living in Nashville; proprietor of grocery store and a vet in1930. they do not appear to have had any children. Georgia Swaner born Feb 1891 mar George Edward Storey and (I think) is buried in Shiloh Cem, new section. Columbus died about 1900 (before June 20th census). I do not know where he is buried. I can only assume Shiloh as this is where his brother Elias Swaner is buried in the old section. Mattie remarried James E Sanders dec 20, 1900 LCT. The Watsons and Sanders had been neighbors, James was a widower by 1900. There was one child born to Mattie and James Sanders, that I know of, Alton B who married Ozell Arnold. I would like to find any descendants of these families as I was gifted some family pictures and have been years trying to find the names of those in the pictures and descendants to help me with piecing this familyn together. If you have any info, please contact me. Donna _________________________________________________________________ Don’t just search. Find. 1. Quiry Re: Ward and King lines.
    2. Hi Hilda Anderson: I could not find a person named Jonathan King in my database. To my knowledge, the given name Jonathan was not used in the part of the KING line that I belong to. However, I did find a man named Erasmus WARD in my data base. The entry states that the data was extracted from the US Census of Jackson Co., AL. Jackson Co. is adjacent to Madison Co. AL on the east side, and close to Lincoln Co. TN to the north here my KING ancestors settled in the 1800's; then migrated to Madison Co. AL. . Erasmus Ward was apparently living with his family in District # 19 in Jackson Co. AL on the 16th of Nov. 1850. My datum states that he was born about 1814. However, my file does not state who gave me the data. But, I think it might have come from a Census extract of the 1850 US Census made by members of the LDS Church. I have no other information on the persons that you listed in your query. Sorry I can't be of more help. Let me suggest that the try the genealogical data base of the LDS Family History Library in Salt Lake City, UT. It's free and a Google search should be able to give you their current Internet address. But, I think it is: FamilySearch.Org. Tom King, Sr. of No. VA, near Leesburg. --------------------------------------------------------- In a message dated 7/27/2006 7:23:02 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Would like to know if Jonathan King that married Rhoda Eslick is in your line of Kings. Daughter Mary married Erasmus C. Ward 23 Nov 1838 in LCT. One of their daughters Elizabeth Ann Ward is my ggg grandmother and she married Joseph Henry Oliver Caldwell. Their daughter Mary married James Arthur McWhirter. Their son Frank James married Mamie Irene Shelton and their son was my father Mack Alvin McWhirter. I once asked who was buried under the slabs in the Champ-Ward Cemtery. A gentlemen that was a historian said to me "Your ancestors are buried there, the Kings." He died 16 years ago but knew everything about this community and kept a journal for years. Just wish I had talked with him more. I think my grandmother is buried in the King Cemetery, Petersburg, TN. Anyway, there is a tombstone that reads Mrs. Oliver Caldwell. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Some of above prob. were born in MS too? These are late enough families you should be able to find them on censuses to be sure this is good info. Those with LCT 1850 censuses should be able to find some in that book to help on this genealogy. I always worry when they post the line back to Kingdom Come. Smile. There are many King researchers on this site. If you find ERRORS or can ADD to this PLEASE POST ON LINE. Do Not send to me as these are NOT my families . I do not want bad information passed along either. So PLEASE make necessary changes if you see errors and post on this site. :*¨¨*:·.~* Ginny *~.·:*¨¨*:·.
