I am searching for my elusive James Woolsey. Originally, all we knew was he was born in TN, left home about the age of 14, moved to MS, married Elizabeth Stone and had a family. His second marriage to Laura Gilmore Carr bore another son, James Webster, my grandfather. I located an IGI fiche that was supposedly from the Bible pages of an Alma Woolsey. Does anyone know of her? The recorded information shows a Samuel Woolsey, son of John IIIand Sarah Oliphant, being married to Cassandra Gilbird. They had a son, James born in 1817 in TN. They all were originally from Greene Co., TN, but it is believed they moved to Lawrence Co., TN. A later census shows a Samuel Woolsey in Roane Co., TN. This past week I was looking at a new source, which shows a James Woolsey born in TN 1818 to Thomas Woolsey, son of John IV, and Milley, also that he married Elizabeth. Wilford Wilkerson had also located a James and Elizabeth Woolsey in AR for about the same time period, however, there children's names did not correspond to the names I had for James and Elizabeth in DeSoto Co., MS, where the family was raised. Does anyone have any information, direction, clue or hint on which way to go? Thanks, Norb Woolsey
