I am a decendant of Robert McBride Poag, born 1812, York County, SC. He was a son of Samuel L. Poag Sr. born Nov 1769 in Antrim Co, Ireland. He came to America around 1787, married Hannah Harriet McBride, born 1774 in Scotland. Samuel and Hannah had 12 children. My grandmother was Urah Ann Poag, born 7 Aug 1879, Lawrenceburg, TN. Her father was Samuel L. Poag III, born July 1857, Wayne County, TN. He was one of 12 children of Robert McBride Poag and Esther Burgess, a Chickasaw Indian girl.
