Hi everyone, O.K. folks, I am beginning to worry. So far we only have 11 tables reserved for the Lawrence County Genealogical Society's Family History Fair to be held Saturday, June 17, 2000, at the Lawrence County High School. The fair is just a month away and we need more people to commit to needing a table reserved, or I may have to be committed! We want our third fair to be as big a success as our first two. The fair starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. and admission is only $1 per person. Each year we have had a tremendous turn out of people from all across the United States. The main purpose of this fair is to try to put families who are researching on the same surname in touch with each other so they can share info. Many people reserve tables and display their genealogy material, while many other people simply attend in hopes of finding a long lost relative - dead or alive. We also have several vendors; most are local, but some are from other counties and states. If you wish to reserve a table to display your charts, books, pictures, etc., or if you have books for sale, please send your name, address and a brief description of what you will be bringing. There is no charge for reserving a table, we just need to know how many tables to set up. A copy machine will be available for making copies. Food will also be available for those who want to stuff themselves while meeting new family members. Hopefully we will have a photographer who can copy pictures for you and door prizes. So, plan now to attend. Also, if you are willing to help with setup, take down or during the fair, please let me know. Even if you live out of state, you can still help for an hour or two.
