I am looking for any information on a James Woolsey, born in TN ca 1800-1815. He left home at an early age, married an Elizabeth Stone, and moved to DeSoto County, MS. They had 7 children. He and his second wife Laura Gilmore Carr, and one son, my grandfather, James Webster Woolsey. I have located an IGI file showing a James Woolsey, born 22 Nov 1813 to Samuel Woolsey and Cassandra Gilbird(Gilbert, I suspect). The names of his brothers and sisters seem to carry forward to his own children, the name of my grandfather as an example. This information is supposed to be from the Bible pages of an Alma Woolsey. Unfortunately, the submitter will not confirm the information as promised when contacted. Samuel Woolsey was the son of John Woolsey III and Sarah Oilphant, born in Greene Co., TN, later moved to Lawrence Co., TN.
