    1. [TNLAWREN] Photographers
    2. P McDonald
    3. Anybody have any knowledge of these photographers, when they operated, who they were, etc.? ======== A family member recently found an old photograph (probably HOLLAND descendant), with the photographer's company stamped on as Gunn and LeFann Lawrenceburg, TN & Greenville, Texas I also have a copy of Elmira Ross McDonald, with the photographer's stamp as a LeFan, but the printing is so fancy I can't be sure of the first two initials--which are the same. Could be "I. I." or "J.J." or most anything similar. It says, Pulaski, TN (Giles county). I would judge the photographs to have been taken ca 1880s. Additionally, this clue is found in a paper written by a Quillen: John Lawson married Rachel LEFAN McDonald (widow of Ephraim McDonald). They had several children, and Mr. Quillen said: "Tom and Wash were highly educated for them days. They taught school and made pictures (Duerreotype). Tom never married. Came home from Ark., took peneumonia that night and died in three days. Died in the room he was born in. Wash married Melvina Rickman." I believe he refers to William Thomas Lawson, born ca 1846 and James Washington Lawson, born ca 1848 One might suspect Rachel Lefan Lawson was related to the LeFan photographers, and her sons could have also been in business with them, or learned from them - or some other connection????? However, William Thomas Lawson died ca 1870. Pat McDonald mmcdonald3@houston.rr.com
