She was born circa 1828-1831. The 1850 Wealkey Co.Census shows her as age 22 - the 1860 census as age 30 and the 1870 census as age 39. After that I lose track of her. She married ___?___ Stanfield circa 1846-1848. Their son George C. Stanfield was born 15 Aug. 1849 in Weakley Co. I think Martha's husband was Erwin, Ervin, Irvin, or possibly James Stanfield. I think he was the son of William Stanfield of Wayne Co. This is a HUGE gap in my research, and I just haven't been able to settle it. I plan to contact the two people you suggested. I really do appreciate your help. You've been great!! Thanks so much!! Suzanne --------------484239964EB97CA68A3BA77F--

    2. Hi, looking for information on Pleasant James. Born January 18, 1809, and who moved from Hancock County, Alabama (Now Winston County) to Tennessee at the outbreak of the Civil War. He joined the Eighth Infantry, a Tennessee Regiment and was assigned to company K. Any Civil War buffs out there who can enlighten me and tell me about this unit and maybe find him listed on a muster some where. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Chuck James Montgomery, Alabama

    2. Layne Holley
    3. I was in Bonnertown, TN last summer and noticed a Church Bell on the front lawn of the Bonnertown Missionary Baptist Church. According to my family, my great great grandfather, George Washington Yarbrough (1850-1920), helped purchase this bell for the church. Also, the Sherrill family of Bonnertown also contributed to the purchase of this bell. I have an old photograph of this bell in the tower of the wooden church structure. I would like info on this Yarbrough and Sherrill family as well as the history of this church and this area. Please contact me directly at <gunnerholley@hotmail.com> (Mr.) Layne A. 1. [TNLAWREN-L] Family History Fair
    2. Lawrence County Archives
    3. Hi everyone, O.K. folks, I am beginning to worry. So far we only have 11 tables reserved for the Lawrence County Genealogical Society's Family History Fair to be held Saturday, June 17, 2000, at the Lawrence County High School. The fair is just a month away and we need more people to commit to needing a table reserved, or I may have to be committed! We want our third fair to be as big a success as our first two. The fair starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. and admission is only $1 per person. Each year we have had a tremendous turn out of people from all across the United States. The main purpose of this fair is to try to put families who are researching on the same surname in touch with each other so they can share info. Many people reserve tables and display their genealogy material, while many other people simply attend in hopes of finding a long lost relative - dead or alive. We also have several vendors; most are local, but some are from other counties and states. If you wish to reserve a table to display your charts, books, pictures, etc., or if you have books for sale, please send your name, address and a brief description of what you will be bringing. There is no charge for reserving a table, we just need to know how many tables to set up. A copy machine will be available for making copies. Food will also be available for those who want to stuff themselves while meeting new family members. Hopefully we will have a photographer who can copy pictures for you and door prizes. So, plan now to attend. Also, if you are willing to help with setup, take down or during the fair, please let me know. Even if you live out of state, you can still help for an hour or two. Contact Kathy Niedergeses at (931) 766-1576 or by email at lcarchives@lorettotel.net for further information, to reserve a table or to volunteer. Kathy Niedergeses, Director Lawrence County Archives

    2. Vickie R. Rumble
    3. In regard to the question last week about a wagon train to TX - could Peters Colony be the group you are looking for? I have photos I took in Dallas last year of my relatives' graves and the back of one is inscribed with a notice about his having settled Dallas arriving in Peters Colony. It states the journey began in SC, but I know my family members were living in Lawrence Co., TN & Lauderdale Co., AL when they joined it - not SC. Perhaps others from the area joined there as well. Possibly crossed the Red River at Colbert's Ferry and hiding in the reeds along the river from the Indians. >> Do you have dates for the departure of these wagon trains? I am trying to track the family of James Marcum & Lavenia Syrena McDonald (2nd wife) who left Lawrence Co. TN sometime before 1880 when they show up on the Tarrant Co., TX Census. James shows up on the 1864 Tax List for Tarrant Co. but no 1870 Census record in either TN or TX. Billie McDonald Goldwire
