    3. Absolom Sams son of Eli Sams of Ky. Absolom Sams stated on the census that he served in the civil war. I have been unable to confirm. Absolom was born in 1850 and died 1929. He married Ada Belle Leake 4 Apr 1905 in Pemiscot Co. They had a dau. Ada May who married Jim Frank York 11 Oct 1924 in Lake Co. and died 8 Mar 1998. Also looking for pics of Absolom. He was suppose to have been a judge in Lake Co at one time. Any help appreciated. 3. Hi everyone! Sorry to start another thread of messages so close to a Surname Shout Out but with the lists being down the first part of the year it threw my scheduling off. Hope you don't mind... With this being the Memorial Day Weekend, I thought it would it be interesting to post one ancestor we have in our family trees who served in one of the many wars and battles we fought in US History. Obviously it has to be an ancestor from this county. :) Give a brief biography of that person including the unit and war he or she was in, a POW, injuries, plus the usual genealogical stuff. Thanks in advance and have a safe weekend! Rick B Admin

    3. I am looking for more information on the parents of Catherine B. Hartsugg b. 2 Jan 1842 and who married Henry Lewis Mooring on 4 Jan 1858 Madison Co. TN but 1860 they were in Pemiscot Co. MO. Then they went back to Lake Co. TN (on the 1870 census there). Catherine & Henry both died in 1874. -- Dement Family Association National Reunion July 12 & 13th, 2019 in Murfreesboro, TN Research: Dements in Rutherford Co. TN>MO www.caderdement.blogspot.com

My mother is Linda Harrison whose mother was Mamie Crouson Harrison whose mother was Lena Pearl and father was Elias Crouson. This board helped me figure out a major stumbling block I came across yesterday. I drove to Antioch cemetery to find my great Aunt Roxie Permenter Bell's headstone. Right as I started looking I came across a Roxie Ann Bell Crouson which really confused me because I knew I had a great Aunt Roxie who was the sister of my great grandmother but this said Bell as her maiden name. Well after digging around on here I was able to realized that Roxie Ann Bell Crouson was the sister in law to my great grandfather and Roxie Lou Permenter Bell was his other sister in law on his wife's side. Crazy world we live in and what a joy to find the information. Feel free to message or email me at cmadrey@hotmail.com or find me on facebook. Author: msangel1983 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.tennessee.counties.lake/1027.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: As far as I know Bettie Lou Glen(n) (As written on my grandmother's birth certificate obtained through vital records married Arthur L M Ewing. They lived in separate houses, Arthur was living in what is now Franklin and Bettie in Nashville. Bettie was born between 1900-1910. I want to say more specifically 1909 but records change here and there. Bettie had a sister named Leanna, no one knows much about her and if she is still alive. My mother was 6 when her mother, Leanna's niece got very sick and suggested to my granny to allow my mother to live with her. It was speculated that Leanna, and other relatives may have been from Illinois or Michigan apparently. Bettie Lou was supposedly in prison for killing a man but i called TN archives and they did not find an inmate under that name specifically. Hattie Glenn (unknown surname) must have died when Bettie and her siblings were little because certain records indicate that Leanna and other siblings did not remember their mothers name just their fathers. I think after George died they ended up in the Negro Masonic House near where I work now but the physical building doesn't exist nor do records. Leanna wrote Bettie's name as Bettie Lou Warner when she died and I found a lead that may have been her as Bettie Atwood buried in Greenwood Cemetery and I called them and records during the time she died were burned in a funeral parlor fire, so most likely she is somewhere there in an unmarked grave or deteriorated tombstone.
