It was in the March 31, 2002 paper BROOKS, MOLLIE BOLTON - age 86, of Tazewell, was born 8- 17-1915, passed away on March 30, 2002 at Claiborne Co. Hospital. Faithful member of Pleasant View Baptist Church for many years & Sunday school teacher there previously. Retired school teacher from Claiborne Co. School System, teaching at Sycamore, Ritchie, Hall, Midway & S.M.M.S. Active in the Homemakers Club. Preceded in death by her parents, Dan & Pearlie Vannoy Bolton; brother, Everett Bolton; sisters, Essie Marsee, Opal Venable, Lois Epperson, Mae Bray. Survived by: husband of 66 years, Ray Estle Brooks, Tazewell, Tenn.; sons & daughters in law, Roger & Sue Brooks, Wise, Va., Gerald & Mary Brooks, Cleveland, Tenn.; grandchildren, Karen Brooks, Wise, Va., Ryan & Miriam Brooks, Greenville, SC; brother & sister in law, Carl & Greta Bolton, Tazewell,Tenn.; sisters & brother in law, Jewell & Lewis Barnard, Athens, Tenn., Marie Davis, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; several nieces & nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church c/o Inez Lester, 1190 Little Sycamore Rd. Tazewell, Tenn. Funeral service 8 p.m. Sunday March 31, 2002 in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday March 31.
