Those who have been having trouble finding some of their names in soundex lists will want to take a look at Tony Burrough's article on the soundex in the Dec 2001 National Genealogical Society Quarterly. This several page article describes a couple of much lesser known rules that can make a serious difference in how a few names are soundexed, as well as reviewing the better known rules. It's under copywrite, and several pages long, so people won't be able to copy the entire article to any list--at least not without NGS &/or Tony's permission. Many larger libraries have subscriptions to this magazine. It could also probably be obtained from Allen county library (originators of Persi), or contact me off-line. Karen
