Dear Listers: Is there anyone out there that might be able to answer a question for me on the early censuses? My Campbells came from Augusta Co, VA to what is now Knox Co, TN in the 1790s. Looking at the censuses for 1800 - 1810 would this show up as Virginia? I find Campbells which match the given names of my line, but they are not listed in TN. I'm not really sure what County and State it would have been considered in those census years. Can anyone assist me?
