Say, great to hear from the "Ole Pros" again. Trust you are doing OK as we are. Thanks for the PROBST data. As you will well remember, a yr ago we were working hard in Rowan Co, NC 1760-1830 on the clan of Balzer DUTTRO whose eldest son left his family in Rowan Co ca 1818 and reportedly migrated to Knox Co, TN where he reportedly m 1/1/1820 to a Susan PROAPS. As no one has ever found this m in Knox Co rec, and there is an exact date, I suspect that the m could have been in another county?? Also, this Balzer DUTTRO had a dau Catherine who m 29 Dec 1802 a Peter YOUNG, which is hoped to be my long lost gf!!! Also, in the 1880s, a Margaret CLEMMER [believed to be my gm and a widow of the famous Valentine CLEMMER who d 1786 PA] shows up in Rowan Co, purchases land 6 Feb 1787 in Rowan Co wit by Balzer, and who m a infamous Wm HANCOCK 1 Mar 1792 in Rowan Co with Balzer as bondsman. This Margaret then disappears ca 1795 from Rowan Co and shows up in Lincoln Co on 1800 cen 6 doors from John DETROW who I believe to be her bro along with Balzer! Now, once I heard that there were numerous PROBST in early Lincoln and Gaston Cos, and that a lady in Iredell Co has a hugh data base on PROBST, I became excited. It is hoped that these CLEMMER, YOUNG, PROBST & DETHEROW families can be tied together and validate these connections. All thoughts and suggestions will be valued.
