    3. hi can you tell me if ANDERSONVILLE prison was a UNION? or CONFEDERATE prison?.my great great uncle WILLIAM HOUSTON MAYES was imprisoned there.he died on the way home in 1865.he was from CLAIBORNE County,TN.his sister was my greatgrandmother NANCY ANN MAYES MOORE.i'm tracing MOOREs in KNOX County,TN.any on here? thanks Ray Moore.
