>From "My Trees Newsletter": Ask Us - What do you mean Junior and Senior doesn't mean a father and son relationship and a Cousin wasn't a relative at all? During the 1700s the terms Junior and Senior were often conveniences used by colonial families who lived in rural communities. These terms were used merely to distinguish between two person who lived in the same locality, had the same name, and were of different generations. Sometimes the men were related sometimes not. It was quite common in the Southern United States. These designations were usually not permanent either. I'm brand new to the list and was wondering if anyone has any information about Western Warwick who married Fanny Walker in 1812 in Knox Co. Tn. Does anyone know if they had a daughter Margaret Adeline? By 1850, there is a Western Warwick age 33 living in Twin Twp, Darke Co, OH, and living with him is Fanny Winegardner (possibly his mother remarried). Also living a few doors down is Henry Warwick age 40. Just a few pages from them is my Margaret Adeline who was married to Leonard Brock. Does anyone know anything about this family? Any help is greatly appreciated. Mary

1940 is not yet released to the public. 1930 was just released this year after the obligatory 72 years of privacy. It is possible to access the closed censuses, but one has to get a signed permission statement from the individuals in question to allow the census bureau to access the information (for a fee, of course.) Ray; In reference to Jack Moore, I am the one who told you about Jack Moore working at University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Jack was a second shift dispatcher for all of second shift maintance worker (me included). Jack was a very private person and didn't reveal much about himself. He probably told me more about his military background because of my similar interest and background. He had a nephew by the name of Charles or Charlie Moore. Charlie at one time worked at UTK in the carpenter shop and Jack worked in the Air Condition Shop and later worked as a dispatcher. When I knew Charlie he worked at Eastern State Hospital. I worked with Charlie at the Hospital. I was an Electrician and Charlie was a Carpenter. I left the hospital and went to work for UTK. Jack was working as a second shift dispatcher. I have talked with people who worked Jack and apparently Jack talked more about family to me than to other people. He used say "Boys I have to go straight home or the door will be locked and I'll have to sleep on the porch". This was Jack's way of being funny but sometimes I wondered about it. Sorry I haven't got back to you but I have tried to install Windows XP Pro on my Desk top Computer and it was a big flop. I wound up formatting the hard drive still don't have it installed. I am using my laptop but with these little bitty keys it a slow go on Email. I am looking for William Severs who married Catherine Peck in l793 in Montgomery CO VA. He failed to pick up a letter in Knoxville about l800 to William Savoirs and lived in Anderson Co from l802 and appears to have been there before the county was cut off of Knox County. He seems to have been a deserting Hessian soldier deserting from Savanna GA in July of l782 named Johannes Wilhelm Siebert. I have learned much about the deserting Hessian but need info on Wm Severs between l793 and l802 in Knox County. Any suggestions or info appreciated. Searching for information regarding Elisha VINZANT b. Unknown in Tennessee (county unknown) and d. 1844 in Newton County, Missouri. He married Ellender LEE, b June 24, 1810 in Tennessee (county unknown); d February 17, 1884 in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana. They had the following children: David Marion Vinzant, b. 1837, Tennessee (county unknown); m. Sarah Matilda MAY, December 27, 1860, Monroe County, Indiana; d. March 21, 1892, Pickering, Nodaway County, Missouri. Ellen Vinzant, b. Tennessee (?) no other information. It is said that she married an unknown BROWN. William Everment Vinzant, b. June 17, 1844, Neosho, Newton County, Missouri; m. Rebecca East, February 17, 1867 in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana; d. October 19, 1935, Decatur, Macon County, Illinois. In 1900 census, David shows father being born in Tennessee. Brother indicates father born in France. Could this be because France claimed a section of Tennessee when Elisha was born? So many questions and unfortunately, so few answers. Elisha and Ellender are very evasive. I have been searching 30 plus years and have found nothing. Any help is appreciated!
