I have a Jefferson Co., TN family that I've been researching. The patriarch of this family is Jacob C. Smith b. 15 Oct 1801 in VA. He married Eleanor "Nelly" Wilson on 12 Feb 1824. She was b. 10 Dec 1803 and d. 15 Nov 1834. They had Amanda Alvira b. 17 Dec 1824 (she was married to Hazel Hill), Sumner W. b. 28 May 1826 (m. to Mary L. Starksbury), John J. b. 01 Mar 1828 (m. America M. McGee), Mary Ann b. 16 Apr 1830 (m. Washington Abraham Johnson ), and Margaret E. b. 07 Jan 1833 (m. Harry Andrews) Jacob then married Catherine Kelly Moser who was a widow of William Calvin Jarnagin and the daughter of Sarah Vance and Philip Moser. She was b. 27 Mar 1815 in Jefferson Co., TN and d. 25 Jul 1857 in Jefferson Co., TN...she was married on 30 Aug 1832 to William Calvin Jarnagin and had a son named William Calvin Jarnagin (her first husband died fairly soon after their marriage) She married Jacob C. Smith 04 Feb 1836 in Jefferson Co., TN. They had the following children... Francis Morgan b. 14 Sept 1839 Edward H. b. 08 Jan 1843 Sarah Eleanor b. 14 Dec 1844 Jacob C. b. 19 Jul 1846 Catherine K. b. 17 Jun 1848 Nicholas Keffer b. 19 Jan 1851 m. Emma Barton Emma R. b. 29 Jun 1852 Hugh Calvin b. 04 Dec 1854 m. Victoria Mahoney Jacob Smith then married July Arants on 05 Jul 1858. She was b. 17 Dec 1824. These dates come from a letter that was written to the Johnson family several decades ago...I would be very interested in corresponding with anyone who has info on this family or are descended from this family.
