Mary Sanders Hi, I don't know anything about the Sanders but am researching the Hickman family of Jefferson and Sevier counties. Are your Hickmans by any chance Caleb and his wife Rebecca who married in Jefferson County 26 DEC 1808? A son may have been Andrew Jackson Hickman b 1815 who lived in Jefferson County, Sevier County, and Roane County. Barbara R. Hi, I have Thomas Lowrey Hickman of Jefferson Co. who m. Mary Ann Sanders (1863-1936). He was the son of William Thomas Hickman and his first wife Julia Petty of Sevier Co. Thomas' 2nd wife was Nancy Emeline Scarlet. William Thomas Hickman is the earliest Hickman that I have. Is he in your line? According to Jefferson Co. marriage records he also married a Hickman named Rebecca in 1808. I have collected a lot of records on the Hickmans of Jefferson and Sevier counties, hoping to find a clue. In STORIES IN STONE JEFFERSON COUNTY CEMETERIES v. 1 it lists William Thomas H. and Julia as well as his parentsWilliam and Susanna Mount Hickman as being buried in Caldwell Cemetery in Dumplin Valley. One "mystery" figure is a Windson Hickman who was in the war of 1812 and also in a Grainger Co. record of 1815 and then disappeared. I've wondered if he could be the parent of either Calebs or Rebecca.
