In a letter that Lou Handy wrote in 1936 she makes this statement ,"Lucy Reed, of Boston, wife of Peyton Talley, was related to William Lee the father of Thomas Lee. Lucy Reed's mother was a Lee, and Lucy Lee's mother was a Golden. The Carter Hills, Campbells, Jones, Carters are all related to the family of Robert E. Lee." Lou Handy is suppose to be from the line of Benoni "Carter" Talley. She is the one that states that Carter's parents are Peyton Talley and Lucy Reed. I thought we needed to find out where Carter Hills is. The thought has been that she was maybe to young to remember or understand much about what her grandmother Lucy Talley Jones said about this family.---Lucy Talley Jones lived with Lou Handy's parents for a time. Can you answer the question as to where Carter Hills is?---or is she talking about a place here?
