This is a response to Janice's questions related to a cemetery in Talbott. We were having a discussion about whether Talbott was in Jefferson or Hamblen counties. I finally got a response from my sister, who lives in Hamblen, but goes to church in Talbott in Jefferson Co. She talked to a former postmaster at Talbott, who said the post office moved from Jefferson County to Hamblen County in 1977. Also, most of Talbott's land area is in Jefferson, but most of the people with a Talbott address live in Hamblem, due to subdivisions in Hamblen. Bill
Bill - thanks so much for that great information, that helps me a great deal. When a town sits so close to the border, who knows where it is. I really appreciate your information - thank you again!!!
