State of Tennessee Circuit Court December Term, 1841 Jefferson County THe Grand jurors for the state, summoned, elected, empanneled, sworn and charged to inquire for the body of the County of Jefferson aforesaid, upon their oath aforesaid, present that Bradley Kimbro, otherwise called Bradley Bettis, late of said county, laborer, on the twentieth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one in the county of Jefferson aforesaid, in and upon one John W. Bettis in the peace of the state then and there being, did make an assault, with force and arms, and him the said John W.
