Wanda, I could be wrong about this but I don't think Tennessee has birth records before 1900. That is with the exception of those larger counties that did keep records prior to that date. I tried for a copy of my grandfather from 1892 in Jefferson County and the dept of vital statistics sent back my request. Check the following link.
