I only have my Cox family back a few years, but they also lived in Jefferson Co. Tn. I will give you what I have which was sent to me by my aunt. Lee Cox b. unk. married Alsie Babs b. unk. Their children were: William Lee Roy (Bill) married Emma Babbs. (Bill was killed by a train in Briceville, Tn.) Lee Ander Cox (Murdered by John James Bettis and Bettis's son Clyde James Bettis, they stabbed him to death when he caught them stealing his chickens) Jessie Cox (I have no information on him) Wirt Cox (had twin sons, Virgil and Wayne) Joseph Elijah Cox d. 5/31/1941. (One of the best fox hunters in Jefferson Co., Tn.) Mary Cox Bettis Blackburn (evidently married into the family that killed her brother). Betty Cox (mentally challenged and d. at the age of 18). Bertie Cox (She married a Cameron and died 11/11/1983 at the age of 94. Lived and died in the Talbott Community of Jefferson Co. Tn. and had several children. Joseph Elijah married Lou Ella Barbee in 1907 in Mt. Holeb in Jefferson Co. Tn. They had the following children: 1. Maggie Cox Cameron b. 12/31/04 (had 14 children, 2 sets of twins and d. in Va. in 1945). 2. Lemal Brown Cox who married first, Ada Pollard and they had one child: Juanita Cox Woods. Wife number 2: Inis Haynes and they had 4 children: L.B., Jr. , Judy, Mary Frances, and Erma Trudy. Inis died in Va. in 1945 and the children were put up for adoption by their father. 3. Edith Inez Cox b. 5/13/1908. She married first: Charles Randolph Walker. They had 8 children. Virgil, Alvin J., Berta Mae, Ruby Faye, Oma Lee, Rebecca Inez, Donald Rudolph, Ima Jean. Charles was killed in 1940 by an off duty policeman when Oma Lee was only 6 wks. old. (These are my grandparents). Married second: Ivan Richard Hayworth. Had two children: Georgia Nyoka and Isaac Richard. 4. William LeRoy Cox b. 1910 d. 8/31/1983. Married to Alice Malone 5. George David Cox b. 11/23/12 , d. 1997. Married to Margaret Wells. Two children: Davana and Debbie. 6. Porter Alvin Cox b. 1915. Married first to: Agnes Spencer Gilbert and had two children: Porter Alvin, Jr. (known as J.R.) and Jearl Dean Cox Tolliver Jett. Married second to: Dorothy Devotie. They had the following children: Dianah Cox Collins, Miles David, Loraine, Jackie Ray, Charles and Donald. 7. Harley Ransom Cox (known as "Blackie" because he was covered with black hair. He was a big man and real dark. Looked like an Indian). He was born 7/14/17 and married first: Dorothy Ethridge and had one son: Ronnie Cox. Married second to Betty? they had one son, Tommy Cox. 8. Laura Belle Cox Miser b. 1/21/19. Married to Lewis G. Miser from Sneedville, Tn. they had no children. 9. John Tate Cox b. 5/22/1922. Wife no 1: Lozella Leonard Cox, and they had one daughter, Ann. Wife no 2: Marvis (Mike) Young. They had 3 sons: John, Steve, and Gregory. 10. Clara Elizabeth Cox, b. 5/16/25 married 1: unk Hall ; married 2: unk Cameron. She had one son, Robert Michael Cameron (Bobby). I have not found Lee Cox's father and would appreciate any information that I can find on this family. I don't know if this helps or not but I suspect that one of the persons on your list is a member of the same family, maybe more than one of them. I do not have any dates but I am still looking. I can send you any information that I might run across. If I were guessing I would probably go with Nathaniel, but I am not really sure.
