The Stinnett family may be related to the Stinnetts in Amherst County, VA. Two brothers, Benjamin and James Stinnett lived there. They have a very large family. One of my family lines connects to this family, however she moved from Virginia to middle TN. A researcher in this family communicated with me some time ago and said that he considered most of the Stinnetts in Tennessee to related to this particular family. The Stinnett family is very large. I will try to locate the current address of this person if you wish to communicate with me privately about this. Thanks Patrisha for replying. Anything is better then being ignored. LOL. you are my only reply thus far. James Calvin Stinnett was my great uncle and I am about 98% certain that the line links to Old John and Bessie Justus of Sevier County, TN. I have been trying to locate living kin of two of my missing great uncles, located one last year. The family had been separated since 1912. Located living kin of 5 out of 7 siblings. These deeds mention, Mrs. Yoe's, Brownlow, and West-View Cemetery. They also mention that the property (as of 1920) was 200 or so yards from the intersection of the Pike and Russell Ave. All of this property was sold to J. D. Murphy and also abutted his exisitng property. My question is this, is West-View located on Russell Ave.? Mary Newman is buried in West-View, so it is logical her property was somewhere near. I was in Jefferson Co. last fall, but of course these deeds came tolight after I got back to Alabama. I am trying to get a location fixed in my head. Thanks in advance.

A copy of the book can be found at the Sevier County Library-genealogy building, located in Sevierville, TN. Is there a particular family you are searching for in the book?
