Hello Members! Are there any ARNOLD researchers on this list? Thanks & Smiles, Deborah
I received a lot of information [email protected] aol.com from a descendant of Sarah Nodding, a sister of Eleanor Nodding who married Either Daniel Hill as she states or John Hill as papers I found in Jonesboro state. There is records of Daniel, John ,andSamuel Hill moving to Jefferson county and Daniel transferring land to his sons Jefferson Hill and Massey Hill who were then living in Green county Tenn. Daniel moved to Mcnary county Tenn where he and his wife is buried. the name on his wifes tombstone is Ellen. I have not been able to unscramble thi mess to find where my ggrandfather Rufus Morgan Hill fits in, but maybe you cn trace yours back from this info. Vernon
Would like to know when Douglas dam was built and area flooded. Families Blazer and Aileys relocated as was Ailey's Chapel and cemetery. Is this in Sevier or Jefferson counties? Have a survey of the cemetery and would like to donate to Rootsweb but not sure of county. Thanx, Jane
This is my 1st post to the Jefferson web. We just found our Spoon family in Jefferson Co this week. Peter & Naome SPOON were 80 years old in 1850 & living with thier son Eli Spoon & wife Mary in Dist. #13. Can someone tell me where Dist. #13 is near? Then I could look for cemeteries in that area for Peter & Naome since they are not listed in the 1860 census. I will appreciate any help or suggestions. Thank you. Jefferson County TNGenWeb (http://www.tngenweb.org/jefferson) And The Original Jefferson County Genealogy Page (http://web.utk.edu/~kizzer/jefferson/) Neither has been updated in a very long time. Although if you are new to visiting them they do have a wealth of information -- but if you have been to either in the last 6 months, don't expect anything new :( [at least I couldn't find anything new, could be wrong]. Again, if someone has other links that I don't know about, please let me know. Thanks, Bridgett
I understand that Jefferson County has a new web site. Would someone please send me the address. I would like to visit. Thanks Vernon Burdine [email protected]
I have information that states Elanor Nodding (b. 1751) married John Hill in Washington County and then moved to Jefferson County. Other informants believe that Elanor married Daniel Hill. I believe my greatgrandfather Rufus Morgan Hill to be the son of Nodding Hill and grandson of John Hill and Elanor Nodding. Rufus Morgan Hill married Mary Elizabeth Bayless 12/15/1853. I want to know was Elanor Nodding married to John Hill or Daniel Hill. Any help or suggestions on how to clarify this will be greatly appreciated. Vernon Burdine [email protected]
I am seeking information about the family of John Logan HAYNES. He was born around 1912. In 1936 he was employed in a tailor shop in Knoxville, TN. I would like to contact anyone who is researching the HAYNES family of that area. I look forward to hearing from some of you. Thanks!

Hello Bridgette and Welcome...... My name is Jane Van Husen and I am researching my maternal lines of Blazer, Ailey, and Jones, from Sevier and Jefferson Counties. Hope the mailing list will now perk up and more researchers join. Chatting on this list has been quiet since I have been on. Maybe a roll call would help join us together in this pursuit. In May I did a survey of the Ailey's Chapel Cemetery near Dandridge if anyone needs info. New at this but I will try to figure out how to post entire survey. Best Wishes to you and hope we can get a great thing going. Jane Polk County, Fl.
