I don't understand unless I typed the name wrong: It is http://www.geocities.com/heartland/hollow/2972/ glad I did a book mark on it. Sandy
I went to Tennessee Records, then under the county clerk records found Jefferson County index of wills. Sandy
I find no mention of Jefferson County at all in this corrected link. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hollow/2972/ [email protected] wrote: > The index to Jefferson County wills and probates can be found at > http://www.geocities/heartland/hollow/2972 > > Bill > > ============================== > Free Web space. Hi all :-) I Would like to know if there is a Wollard/Woolard Cemetery located in Jefferson Co. If so, could you also provide directions on how to get there? My cousin, Lynn Rockcastle who descends from the Wollard/Woolard line, was told by "older" family members that there is, or was, an old Wollard/Woolard cemetery in Jefferson Co. many years ago. We are trying to locate the graves of Thomas Daniel & Mary "Mollie" (Linkus/Linkous) Wollard/Woolard & Mary's mother, Julia L. (Stallard) Linkus/Linkous. Thanks for taking the time to read this posting :-) My regards to all, John Linkes (Kentucky)

Greetings Seekers, Hi there, Marcus Hill. I'm new to this list and seek a bit of help. I am trying to connect my GGgranpa, Benjiman English HILL, with James HILL. I have good reason to suspect that James is Benjiman's father but have found no documentation to back it up. I know that Benjiman lived in Jefferson & Hamblen county (from census), that part of the one that became part of the other. (? make sense). What I'm looking for is some document or reference to one that will state that Benjiman is the son of James HILL & Parmelia (nee ENGLISH). James died in Tennessee about 1850, prior to the census of that year. Parmelia moved back to Cumberland County Kentucky soon after. I suspect that James (& his family) was in Hamblen/Jefferson county (which came first?) when he died. Benjiman was evidently living on his own some where else (haven't found him anywhere in the 1850 census as yet). I would really appreciate any help on this search. Best regards, Marcus Hill [email protected] Wichita Falls, Texas > <QUOTE in part> > Parmelia ENGLISH (dau. of Charles Fredrick ENGLISH) b. 1804, Bedford Co., > Virginia; d. ca 1880, Cumberland Co., Ky; m. Looking for any Bolden or Stinnett info
I am searching for the children of John Brimer (1845-1934) and Sarah Jane Holbert (1849-1933). Both were born and died in Jefferson County, TN. John Brimer was the son of Willliam Brimer (1759). Any help would be appreciated, Marjorie [email protected]
Hi all... I was wondering if someone could please do a look up for me in the 1830 Jefferson Co., TN Census. My ancestor, Samuel Collet was in this census and I was wondering if someone could please check for the 6 families before and the 5 families after his entry? Samuel Collet(t) wasn't in Jefferson Co. very long and I wanted to see who he had migrated with...I don't need the enumerations, just the names. Thanks very much! Sincerely, Barry Collett
Still seeking information on CARWILE and RIGGS families in Virginia and Tennessee in the 1700--1800 time frame. I would also like to wish a Happy Veterans Day to all the Veterans out there and thank them for their service to our country. Without their service and sacrifices we would probably not have the freedoms we have today. God Bless you and yours. Bobby G. Still seeking information on the family of Samuel RIGGS, born 1760 in Morris Co, NJ and died between 1845 and 1850 in Hawkins Co, TN at age 85+. Samuel RIGGS was a Lieutenant in East TN Militia in the Cherokee Wars starting when he was about 17 years of age during the Revolutionary War. He settled in Hawkins County in East TN about 1790 and lived there until his death. His TWO Rev War Pension Applications are on the Hawkins County, TN TNGENWEB homepage. What was his wifes name? What were his children's names, we think two of his children were Jesse RIGGS shown in Hawkins Co, TN in 1850 Census and John RIGGS, Justice of the Peace in Hawkins Co, TN in 1845 (John RIGGS "Will" is on the TNGENWEB page for Hawkins County). We have determined to our satisfaction that Samuel RIGGS was the son of Edward RIGGS [1720--1820] who died in Jefferson Co, TN. In 1820 Samuel was operating a Whiskey Making Factory in Hawkins Co, TN. During the Depression the WPA's "Copying Historical Records Project #465-44-3-115, July 1938:" shows: RIGGS Graveyard: Located on the farm of Hardee DOUGHERTY, half a mile north of Russellville on the Three Springs Road. It is supposed that Jesse RIGGS is buried here beside his wife..... Sam RIGGS, the father of Jesse, is buried in an unmarked grave on an adjacent farm..... The two tombsones in RIGGS Cemetery are: Mary RIGGS, Consort of Jesse RIGGS, Born 1797; Died Sept 1845 and Mary TAYLOR, Daughter of Jesse & Mary RIGGS, born 1821, Died 1845." (A Jesse RIGGS had married a Mary HENDERSON in Jefferson County, TN on 07 Jan 1821!!!!) The following RIGGS family is one of two RIGGS families shown in Hawkins Co, TN in the 1850 Census: Jesse RIGGS, age 55; William, age 26; Sarah, age 38; Adeline , age 12. The family of the LATE John RIGGS is shown as: Mary W. RIGGS, age 43; Thompson, age 17; Jane, age 15; James, age 15; Pleasant, age 11. This RIGGS Graveyard is now located in Hamblen Co, TN (created in 1870)!!!! Could someone try to locate this graveyard. It is not shown in the list of Cemetery's on the Hamblen Co, TN homepage!!!! Also we would like to know the location of Samuel RIGGS grave!!!!! It is probably marked by a simple fieldstone if it still exists!!!!! Also, did Samuel RIGGS have a "Will"? If not, are there court records on the disposition of his property at his death? Any help on Samuel RIGGS immediate family, ie, wife, children, etc. will be appreciated. Bobby G. Carwile

Searching for any links or info to John Bolden b. 1842. John was born in NC, unsure of what area, but possibly Orange County. His family moved to Tennessee in 1844, his father being Elijah Bolden b. I think 1812, can give a more exact date if interested. John married Charlotte Cate and they had my Grandmother, Ethel born 1900. All of the above are buried in Jefferson county, Tennessee. Any help, links or info will be appreciated.
Am looking for any information on the husband of Lydia Davison Clark, b: Oct 3, 1870 in Guilford CO, NC and then moved with her parents, James and Hannah Davidson, to Jefferson Co, TN in around1897. Lydia Davison Clark was disowned by Quakers for Marriage contrary to discipline at the Lost Creek Monthly Meeting (Jefferson CO) May 18, 1799. I believe that they had a son William, born in 1801..
