    3. Ummm...Hi Teresa, not sure how we have missed each other but apparently we have, Yes, I am related to your Brakes. Julia Alice Brake was the daughter of Elisha B. Brake and Catherine O'Gwin. She was born Feb. 2, 1866. Her father was the son of Isaah Brake, who was the son of Jacob Brake of Edgecomb Co. NC. He was the son of James Brake and Phoebe Mooreland. James Brake was the son of Jacob Brake born about 1720 and died in 1796. Jacob is buried in Brake Cemetery; Rocky Mount, NC. Jacob came to this country as an indentured servant. This line is well documented, and there is a Brake Family Society. What else can I help you with? I would also like to know how you tie into this line if you do not mind sharing with me. jan -----Original Message----- From: Teresa Beech <beechfamtree@email.msn.com> To: TNHUMPHR-L@rootsweb.com <TNHUMPHR-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Tuesday, April 13, 1999 3:53 PM Subject: Re: My Humphreys County Surnames >Good morning, > It is good to communicate with someone who is related to the >Brake's.Of course,I am >interested in all of the surnames I posted, but the especially the >Brake, because it is a very >rare surname.
