HI Everyone..! >From the cemetery books, part two, page 106 Turner, Andrew jackson, 22 Oct 1843 - 28 Oct 1923, son of Wyley and Maranda Thompson Turner, Turner Cemetery, Big Richland Creek. (Note: Her name was correctly Mariah.) >From Book 1, page 30 The 1880 manuscript (see my note on this at the bottom) has the following about settlement in the area...referring to Big Richland Creek... "On Big Richland Creek, 17 miles, Levi Kirkland, wily Turner, james Black, David H. Burton, Peter Black, the wilkes, and others, 1807-1808...On Little richland Creek, 11 miles, William Prince, William Murray, Johnathan Folkner and others -- 1806.". Antoher history records the following: "Sometime in 1810 the Baptists erected a church on Big Richland Creek and the Reverend George Turner was the 1st minister in charge. He was followed by the Rev Levi Kirkland. These two men, members of the Primitive Baptist Church, were the organizers also of the first congregation in Benton Cty in 1823 on Cypress Creek..." About the 1880 manuscript: The is from an unpublished manuscript from the Tennessee Historical Society files in the State Library and Archives. It was dated 1880 and is the earliest record of Humphreys County, even predating the Goodspeed sketch. Hope this helps! Alisa
