It is reported the Tripletts, Turners, Nelsons, Fitchwaters and Tinnells came over from England on the same boat in 1764 landing in NC. The Tripletts made their way inland to what is now the Cherokee Indian Reservation where there are still residents wearing the name of Triplett.
