I am new to your list and a researcher on the TNDICKSO rootsweb list suggested that I post my request to you. I am seeking information about the family of my great, great, great grandmother, Ann RAGAN (probably Nancy Ann). She was the daughter of Nathan RAGAN (b. Aug 20, 1788) and Elizabeth (Unknown last name). She married William BARNHILL (1801 - 1844) on Aug 24, 1821 in Hickman County, TN. For this reason we have focused our research in Hickman County. Nathan RAGAN is listed in the Chancery Court of Dickson County, TN on October 20, 1846 which involved a will. The children of William BARNHILL and Nancy Ann RAGAN ended up in Hardin County, TN. We have been unable to locate a burial place of William and Nancy Ann but do know that the orphan children of William BARNHILL were mentioned in 1844 in the minutes of the Hardin County Court Clerk. I think that they settled around the Tumbling Creek area which was in Hickman County at the time but is presently Humphreys County.
