Hi. I am new to the Humphreys County list. My family goes back to William BEASLEY/BEAZLEY b ca 1764 PA/VA/NC/ - d 1845 in Humphreys Co, TN. Various census records have given different birth places for him. William's wife was Mary Ann ?. May be Mary Ann Fehr/Fair of Surrey Co, NC. but no proof for that. I am searching for information on his children & their families, as well as his parents. William had a will, but it went up with the Waverly courthouse fire so haven't much to go on, but here is his family, far as I have been able to find: 1-3) Three Unknown daughters born 1790, 1793 and 1798, probably in Kentucky. 4) Margaret "Peggy" Beasley, b 1800/1805 KY md John P MORRIS abt 1843. 5) William F. Beasley, Jr b ca 1803 KY, mc 1) Nancy ? md 2) Mary GILBERT 3 Oct 1862 in Humphreys Co, TN. 6) John Hennison Beasley, b abt 1806 in Warren Co, KY, d aft 1871 ?. md 1) Alia\Aley BURCHAM abt 1827 in Humphreys Co, TN, md 2) Martha Catherine LOYD 3 Sep 1856 Benton Co, TN. 7) Barnabus F. "Barney" Beasley b 1806-1812, KY, d Mar 1868 in Benton Co, TN, md Freedonia A. D. ? (could be McGill according to family lore). 8) Reuben S. Beasley b abt 1808 KY, d Mar 1862 Benton Co, TN; md Elizabelle BROWN abt 1829 Camden, Benton Co, TN. 9) David Beasley, b abt 1809 KY. md 3 Nov 1839 Benton Co, TN Lacy RASPBERRY. 10. E. (Elizabeth?) Beasley b 1810/1815 KY, md W E (M?) GUTHERY 25 fEB 1841 Benton Co, TN. 11. Another Girl Beasley b 1810-1820. 12. Mary Ann Beasley b 1822 Humphreys Co, TN, d 1876 Butler Co, MO; md abt 1844 TN Milton S SPRADLING. 13. Sarah Ann Beasley b 1823 Humphreys Co, TN, d Mt Carmel, Benton Co, TN. md 16 Jan 1853 Benton Co, TN John DOUGLAS. If anyone has information on any of the above families I would be most grateful. Thank you - very happy to share what information I have. Do have quite a bit on some descendants of the above. Hello Friends, I would like to connect Wyly W. TURNER to his proper family. I am including his obituary here. I look forward to hearing from some of you Turner researchers: Wyly W. Turner was born December 16, 1859; departed this life April 19, 1894. He married Hattie Matheney, February 17, 1887. He joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at the age of eighteen years and for several years has been ruling elder in said church. His funeral was preached in the presence of a large concourse of friends and relatives at Moriah Church http://www.cumberland.org/hfcpc/churches/MariahTN.htm on April 20, by Rev. Thomas Bowman. Brother Turner was a good neighbor, a good Christian and a good man whom everybody loved. He died in full triumph and has gone to reap a rich reward in heaven. May his exemplary Christian life live on and may his works follow him and may his many friends and relatives meet him in heaven. Waverly, Tenn. Hi friends, Because of the contributions that Norma Watson made to Benton County and to Danville Crossing, we bestowed posthumously to her at the 1999 DCHomecoming, the honor or our "Caring and Sharing Award". It was in recognition of her generous nature, and outstanding genealogical knowledge. Many of you knew her. When I got home I mailed the Award to her husband. This is the email I just received from her husband and daughter. I wanted you to know how much our recognition of this lady was appreciated. Cher ************************* Cheryl, I just wanted to thank all of the people in the genealogy group for the lovely certificate of Caring and Sharing you honored my Mother with. She would be proud of all you how you all stuck together in all your efforts ( which is what families are for) to gather information and to also hold onto the new friends you have made while doing so. My Father would like to thank you so much and to say that the certificate is now being framed and placed next to her First Families Certificate. We really appreciate all the kind letters and concern we have received from all of you. We are sad that she is gone, but at least we know her work will live on in many new lives through you. God Bless you all, Jill and Joe Watson

In the meantime if you want to get in touch with me---send any mail to Alisa@trudean.com That is my company email address and I will get it at work. Thanks! Alisa

Because of our interest in the Danville Crossing counties of Tennessee and the willingness of the counties to help us and share in their research, I am requesting that you support these counties. Even though I have no personal interest most of these counties, I do have an interest in that the Societies prosper and grow... in tandem with us ... therefore I intend to join and try to contribute what I can. Hopefully you will too. Below is the information on joining Henry County. I will post the others regularly. Cher >We welcome all---no requirements except desire >to join. $15.00 per member or $25.00 for family >We send out a quarterly newsletter. There are >volunteers who will do limited research free. >Make ck to Henry Co. Genealogical Society >mail >Jamie B. Weatherly, Treasurer >416 Whitehall Circle >Paris, TN 38242 >
