I have some family lore passed on by "Aunt Ada" that her father, Butler Leonard, "was a soldier in the Confederate war". I can find nothing to corroborate this. Butler Leonard Tucker is not listed in "Tennesseans In The Civil War", there is a listing for B.D.Tucker. The 1860 Humphreys County census has a B.D.Tucker 60 listed along with his wife Martha 53 and an 18 year old male Butler. Could this be my Butler Leonard? Is B.D. his father or grandfather? If anyone can help with this I would be extremely grateful. Thanks in advance for your time and effort, Rick Tucker Gibson Co.TN

    2. LINDA_MCDANIEL
    3. I live in Cherokee co Oklahoma. David J , William and Redman Isbell are sons of James and Eda Isbell. I located David Jefferson and William on the 1870 Humphreys co census. David was listed a Jefferson with his first wife Mariah C.. I am told that David was there again in 1910 living with Redman. David Jefferson Isbell was my gggrandfather born in tenn in 1841. William was born abt 1831 and Redman about 1838. On the burgess side. Emma or Emily C. Burgess married David about 1875 in mo. But the information I have from her death certificate is that she was born in Tenn in 1849 to A. J. Burgess and Miss Wilson. Her Brother Alfred Alexander Burgess also born in tenn in 1854 but his death certificate does not list parents. I checked the lds site and came up with Emily and Alfred with the parents of Alexander Burgess and Indiana ? from Humphreys co tenn. Emma died in Oklahoma in 1922 and Alfred in texas in 1936. I have copies of there death certificates. I hope this makes since. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Quoen@aol.com> To: <LINDA_MCDANIEL@email.msn.com> Cc: <ESTLBW@vmmc.org>; <Tutusquilt@aol.com>; iris steedbrowning <irisfox@teleclipse.net>; <aalocke@msn.com>; <jmcdanielj@msn.com>; <papajj@foxinternet.net>; <the.places@prodigy.net>; <WyndWlkr99@aol.com>; brad steed <shannontravel@earthlink.net>; festerat large <hsteed@aicr.org> Sent: Sunday, October 24, 1999 11:41 AM Subject: Re: Isbell and burgess surnames > it would be nice linda to know what part of the country u r in and a little > more info. i do not know your party but will send this to my address book > names. harold steed

    3. Hello Everyone! Humphreys County is participating in the Open House season the TNGenWeb project is having. Our "online" open house is October 20, 1999 and I've been doing a little house cleaning. I need your help...Please check the links to your email address on the Surname page to see if they work. I fixed some today and the list will be updated by tomorrow night..so wait and check it then. AND please check all of your names as one might work and one might not. If anyone has changed email addresses, please notify me and I will change it on the surname page. If you have a query with an old email address you must tell me which query page it is on...I am sorry I don't have time to search them all to find it. The OPEN HOUSE will feature a new guest book on our site...the link will be at the bottom of the main page. I have also added a few new things like a stories about places in Humphreys County--so far we only have one story. If any of you have a story to tell about a person or place in Humphreys County I would love to have it. Thanks again to all of you who have submitted information for the Humphreys County website. Alisa
