    3. An excerpt from the Dick Eastman's Newsletter Jan 16,2000 - An Internet Homecoming Last year Cheryl Adams had an idea. She decided to have a Danville Crossing Homecoming. Cheryl is a county coordinator for TnGen Web on Stewart, and Dickson Counties, Tennessee. Danville Crossing is an email list and web site that encompasses Benton, Houston, Henry, Humphreys, Stewart and Dickson Counties (Tennessee). With the blessings of list manager Dave Snow, Cheryl decided to explore the idea of a "homecoming." That is, an event publicized online but held in person in the counties covered by the mailing list. Cheryl started the publicity online and was rewarded with a lot of interest. In fact, many people did travel to the "homecoming." Cheryl reports: The interest was amazing. We met in June of 1999. We had booksellers, games, drawing, silent auction, antiques display, volunteers with PC's and regional information packets. Historical and Genealogical Societies of these counties were represented. Folks went to cemeteries, historical and genealogical meetings, libraries, courthouses and homeplaces during the day. In the late afternoon and evening hours we met at the Paris Landing Lodge Resort Park at Buchanan, Tennessee for more info swapping. On Saturday evening we had an awards banquet and it was a great success. We had 120 people in attendance, from coast to coast. It was agreed that we wanted to meet again. That is where you come in. We are meeting again on June 22, 23 and 24, 2000. We are having guest speakers and seminars added to the evening meetings and they will be informative and entertaining. The banquet will be held again on Saturday but the exact time and cost are not set at this point. This was more than just a few Internet folks gathering... it was a happening. I know the potential for this to become a real presence in the Tennessee Genealogical Community is real and the need is there. With your assistance I can continue to make this grow to its potential. It strikes me that such homecoming events could bring together internet communities with most any common interest. In addition to residents of a common area, we might imagine gatherings of families or surname groups whose only contact has been through email lists or websites. The web has already helped dispersed people reunite through cyberspace; perhaps such creative events will bring families still closer in the future. Name: Aprox. yr. of birth: Wall, W.H, age 43 1837 Lucy A., age 40 (wife) 1840 Thomas, age 14 (son) 1866 William, age 11 (son 1869 S. S. , age 5 (son) 1875 Susan H., age 3 (daughter) 1877 James H. , age 4 mos. (son) 1880 Living next door: Wall, Rufus R. , age 26 Elizabeth, age 18 (wife) N.A., age 63(or 65) mother (hard to read 2nd number) I do know that this was Rufus's first of three wives. 2nd wife was Lauanne(Lou) Lingo(Olingo) and the third being Lucy White. Elizabeth used the nickname Lizzie and supposedly ran off to her fathers home in Ala. with a guy named Bates from Williamson County. Tina

    3. Hello, I am searching the following families. Jean Hancock WHITEHEAD: BENJAMIN md. three times: (1) ANGELICA (pos. Bishop) in Brunswick, VA; (2) SARAH HARGROVE (md. 1800) in TN; (3) SALLY WILLIS (md.1828) in TN. Came to TN about 1798. Died in TN abt. 1837. ELIZABETH, md. to ISHAM TROTTER, JR. sister to my ggggrandmtr???. Supposedly buried in Hustburg. JOHN and SUSANNAH MOODY ROOK in TN about 1800-1840 when most of their descendants moved onto Marshall Co., MS. DANIEL and ANGELICA WHITHEHEAD ROOK in TN from 1800-1824 when Daniel died. I have been unable to find out what happened to Angelica once she remarried to--- JACKSON, MITCHELL and Angelica Whitehead Rook Jackson. I know they had several children but do not know what happened to them. Angelica died before 1840 supposedly.

    3. Researching family of Richard Albert Deaver (1828-1901), who lived in Humphreys County from about the late 1850s through the Civil War and possibly into the mid 1870s. His first wife was Mary Hawkins, who was born in NC abt 1827 and died during the Civil War in Humphreys Co in 1863. Richard and Mary had a few children in the area.     3. My greatgrandfather, Calvin Batson Scott (C.B. Scott) went to Humphreys Co. in 1872 and moved to Weakley Co. in 1880. He does not appear in the 1880 census for Weakley Co. and I wonder if someone would be so kind as to do a lookup in the Humphreys Co. 1880 census? Would greatly appreciate it.
